How best to describe this album? Imagine yourself alone in the audience of an intimate recital hall, with a handful of top-rated musicians on stage, and Alan, sitting center stage, singing directly to you. The vocals, instrumentals and overall sound quality of this album are outstanding; and reflect the collaboration of true musicians. In this re-recording, the 9 songs have been modernized and given an acoustic arrangement. Alan's voice is controlled, wrought with emotion, and unparalleled. In my opinion, these songs are better than Alan's original versions -- especially because they demonstrate his growth and maturity as a vocalist. This album can only be described as BEAUTIFUL. It will leave you breathless. |
