Simply Funky !
|
" Alarm " is a fast paced song with some very cool beats. The up-tempo music makes it superbly catchy and dancey. Although it does not have much depth and is quite repetitive, the funky music makes up for it. There is also no need for Namie to flaunt her vocals here unlike other songs as it is pretty flat. " Strobe " has the same up-tempo music as the first song but the chorus sounds better. I could feel the sweetness of Namie's vocals in this song and the lyrics were absolutely sexy. You'll know what I mean if you listen to it ^^ The instrumental version of " Alarm " is equally funky with more electronica and techno taste in it. The same has to be said for the instrumental version of " Strobe ". Overall, this has to be one of Namie's most funky album. The music is good and the fun is there. A must have for all her fans !!! |

Baka English??
Baka English??
| Musically, this song isn't terrible, but there is some embarrassingly corny and misused English that takes away from the over all listen-ability. Phrases like: "kick me harder, kick my booty" and "drive me bum(p) bum(p) sound laughably ridiculous and non-sensical to the American/English ear. Maybe Namie should check her English next time or stick with Japanese! |

| Namie's my all-time favorite singer! started listening to her a few years back. she's definitely one of the best dancer around. her voice is truely unique. watched the music video of ALARM on MTV. this song is really catchy and groovy. Namie's voice sounds ultra cool and the dance in the video is simply awesome. love this song alot. one of my favorite namie's songs! |

Refreshing beat and fun single
| This is a refreshing, dancable and upbeat song. It is also very catchy. Very good follow up to So Crazy. I don't think the songs can be describe in one genre but it's a blend of pop/dance/r&b and Namie's vocals flows, it keeps getting better. Strobe is also a very good b-side. It's strong and holds up with Alarm. Both song are smooth and makes you want to move. |

she is going strong
| ALARM is really a cause for alarm this time..cos it only shows tt amuro namie can go higher, produce better songs each time she records something. this heavy production is infused with strong beats n a refreshing harsh twang to it, it is unbending, aloof n sexy. amuro makes sure tt it remains fresh by adding her own unique vocals, making it sound deep, honey-like as it glides over the words. it is the perfect complement to the 'musculine' nature of the music, the vocals sounds taunting n teasing, seduces but retaining a certain cool to it. if u like her previous singles like put em up or so crazy, u will also like this single tremendously. it is certainly a must buy to chill out or dance to. |
