　　亞歷山大大帝生於紀元前356年，為馬其頓王(菲利普)之子，是歷史上第一位征服歐亞大陸的著名帝王。亞歷山大自幼聰穎過人，曾受教於大師(亞利斯多德)，稍長即被授予首府總督之職，並以平定山賊有功而任命為馬其頓大軍統帥，隨父橫掃希臘城邦之亂。西元前336年菲利普遇刺，亞歷山大繼任王位並繼承先父遺志，率領希臘聯軍進攻波斯。關尼卡卡一役大敗波斯並直入小亞細亞，攻佔兩河流域，波斯帝國崩潰，波斯王大流士被殺，又進軍埃及並越過印度河進入�琲e流域，因軍士思鄉被迫退回。亞歷山大融合東西文化，鼓勵民族間通婚，並倡導民族間地位平等，講求希臘思想律法，開創希臘化時代文化，死時卻年僅33歲。
