Formed in 2003, Boy'z originally consisted of Kenny Kwan and Steven Cheung. In 2005, after Kenny went solo, Steven was teamed with newcomer Dennis Mak for the second-generation Boy'z. The group experienced another facelift in 2006 with the addition of William Chan, and the trio took on the name Sun Boy'z. Now all four Boy'z members, current and former, come together for the song 3+1=1. In the song's music video, the boys can be seen as old friends who get involved in a quarrel, but Kenny comes in as a peacemaker. Besides this special collaboration, this double-CD combo comes with two other new songs, "Drawing Closer Step by Step" (CD 1 - Track 3) and "Left Right" (CD 1 - Track 2), as well as a selection of some of the group's best-loved tunes.
This edition comes with an exclusive DVD featuring five music videos including 3+1=1, Tic Tac Toe, and Hey You.

After two cancellations, I finally managed to get my hands on this! I understand that by now, it`s a rare album. Very happy to finally receive it! I got it together with a couple of other CDs and it was the weight of those put together! Hah. Discovered that it wasn`t but CDs and a VCD but a hardcover book as well, with cute photos of the guys plus all the lyrics included. And that`s the way you make a happy customer! The songs are all good, especially the new ones, which sound up-to-date and inspired. Some fine singing in there, especially from Steven, who has a wonderfully warm, rich voice especially suited for ballads. I am not overenthusiastic about his rap/hip-hop numbers, simply because I feel that it`s a style of music that doesn`t go very well with his voice and stage appearence. Dennis and William are great too, and what a good idea to change the act with two new members. It keep s the act fresh, and Boy`z are, in my humble opinion, a much better group than Twins. I`d recommend this to anyone who likes good pop music! It`s a very good compilation CD/VCD. |
