Idol drama favorite Ming Dao (Knock Knock Loving You) brings romance and smiles again in the 2009 Hunan TV series Always Smile! (a.k.a. Smile in My Heart). Ming Dao plays rebellious hotel heir Yufang, who runs away from home and then takes a low-level job at his own hotel under a fake name. There he meets and falls in love with co-worker Tian Wei (Mainland actress Jenny Zhang from Dreams Link), an aspiring singer from a troubled family. All is well when both are poor, but their relationship is put to the test when the truth comes out. Can their love hold up to Yufang's disapproving family and Tian Wei's self-doubt? This romantic drama also co-stars Taiwan beauties Achel Chang (My Best Pals) and Jill Hsu (Goku Dou High School).

Liang Yufang (Ming Dao, a popular idol in Taiwan) is forced by his father to work in Bormann Hotel (which he will inherit) starting from a junior position as a trainee before he can climb up to the top. In a clumsy accident, he ran into Xiang Tianwei (Zhang Jiani), a girl from a poor family working in his hotel. A romantic relationship between Yufang and Tianwei soon began. However, the disparity in their status and the strong opposition from Yufang's father push their love to the brink. Meanwhile, Shao Xi (Xu Jier), public Relations Department Manager of Bormann Hotel, takes advantage of the situation and steps into the Liang family to avenge her father, who she believes died of depression caused by Yufang's father's wrongdoing....
