Heart Station (Japan Version)

March 24, 2008 Takes time to loveOverall the album seemed to be an extension to Blue and Keep Tryin', with many tracks (Fight the blues, Heart Station, Kiss & Cry, Beautiful world, Take 5, Celebrate) in this new album having the upbeat, dance, synthesized arrangements.
As with other tracks her lyrics are well written, but Heart Station and Stay Gold are my personal favorites.
Not having heard her singles first (except for Flavor of life), I waited for the album to come out before seriously listening to her tracks, and decided my overall favorites to be Celebrate and Stay Gold.
Couple tracks reminded me somewhat of songs from the younger Hikki style, like Prisoner of Love and Nijiiro bus-- cleaner beats and less complex arrangements.
Boku wa kuma is an interesting addition. Never think I'd head Hikki in a children's song! Her French is very cute
Maybe is predisposed perception, I heard the ballad verson first before the original Flavor of Life, having heard the original now and comparing the two, the ballad version seems to match the mood of the lyrics better, and I find the original's arrangement a reminisce of the 90's.
Many of the tracks sounded repetitive and boring, but I began to like them after listening to them more. I wouldn't say it is my favorite album in terms of the melody. However, this is definitely a change from her other albums; it's unusual how this album has so many upbeat style tracks, and many more experimenting with new sounds. Keep it going Hikki~Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)

Faith Live (Japan Version)
November 29, 2006 made my day watching itMy friend went to all but one concert in the west coast tour, and his performance was great and the musical transitions were very unique.
The dvd includes interesting scenes outside of the performances in Japan and USA, and I found Hyde even more cute! Although I have to say that the documentary section has shaky quality, and the scenes captured were not the best of his performances.
The anaheim concert fans brought a banner that you see in the "fillmore, san francisco" documentary section that everyone had contributed in writing a message to Hyde. Being the fortunate one, my message was read on the dvd! Yes I do hope that he comes to American again with a longer performance!Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)
