The album's unique concept started with "For You" (Track 6), a cover of Edith Piaf's Hymne AL'amour that Wong produced especially for the Hong Kong Film Archive's "Inspired by Jean Cocteau" tribute exhibition. The soft and atmospheric track is influenced by visionary French filmmaker Cocteau's 1950s and 60s films and evokes Roman and Greek mythology. The European theme continues with songs like "Venice" (Track 1), "Amsterdam" (Track 2), and eerie electronic confection "Aria" (Track 4), which is inspired by a classical music composition.
This new album features Anthony Wong's collaborations with Hong Kong diva Joey Yung and Mainland China star Zhou Xun. "Tearful Praise" (Track 7), his duet with Joey Yung, is based on the French novel Fragments d'un Discours Amoureux, while duet "Wanderer's Song" (Track 3) is the theme for Zhou Xun and Daniel Wu's new film Ming Ming. Also of note is the Lin Xi-penned "All is Empty" (Track 8); the song's philosophical lyrics refer to the Taoist tome Dao De Jing.

| What in the hell happened? Anthony used to have some class. He put out some unforgettable things and had to go ruin it with his deranged antics. Were not angles, Darker Prettier, Borrow Love, were near masterpieces. Its like with most of the artists half is great the other have is terrible. Why not retire and leave a legend than continue to put out crap. The lost tapes compilation was probabblly one of the greatest compilations put together. Same with the tat ming duo. They came out out some great stuff on the other hand they ruin something that could have been really good. He had to ruin his charm and unique touch with his deranged antics. |
