February 28, 2007 ONE OF THE TOP MOB MOVIES Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
Many people argue about what's better - "Goodfellas" or "Godfather". I guess there's no point in discussing this question. Every movie is great. "Goodfellas" might not be as sophisticated as "Godfather" but it shows the dreadful reality of a criminal's life. The film is brutal, ruthless and clever. Director's work is brilliant, maybe one of the best by Scorcese, the cast is outstanding - Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, Ray Liotta and many others (many of them you could later see in "The Sopranos"). Part of the film's charm is that many scenes were ad-libbed by actors as said in bonus features. You'll definately want to rewind and watch them again. What's also interesting is that the movie is based on actual events and on memoirs of the real mafioso Henry Hill (who is played by Liotta here). By the way the disc has a commentary track by Hill so you can hear how it all happened in real life.
One of the greatest mob movies, one of the greatest movies in general. True example of a downward spiral for a man who has chosen the wrong path. Don't miss it.

    February 19, 2007 WHAT A SHAME Customer Review Rated Bad 3 - 3 out of 10
Wes Craven never seemed a good director to me although he created four great movies: "The Hills Have Eyes", "A Nightmare on Elm Street", "People Under the Stairs" and "A New Nightmare". All others were rubbish quite frankly. When he took a five-year break and didn't shoot anything since 2000 I was thinking he decided to create something serious and really good - not something like ridiculous, self-satiric "Scream" (which by the way, as I think, became a curse for all horror genre). But I was wrong. The only thing I liked about the movie was a dog-attack scene, everything else was stupid, plain, and annoying. I was really angry - transformation into a werewolf was made just pitiful. I mean - hello, "An American Werewolf in London" was shot 25 YEARS AGO! And yet noone could top it meaning the transformation scene. Many tried during all these years but nobody succeeded. C'mon, people, forget then computer graphics, bring Tom Savini or Rick Baker!
How do you like another scene - a werewolf-girl is shot, she is lying on her back. In a few moments when we see her and she is a werewolf no more and naked - of course she's sidewise. So we couldn't see her breast. These stupid movie-tricks make me mad.
And have you ever seen a werewolf showing someone his middle finger?! This is a horror film, not a slapstick comedy!
I'm not talking about Kevin Williamson - this guy desreves to be banished from Hollywood.
