Anzenchitai's last blast?
| With Tamaki Koji now retiring from performing, it appears that this may have been Anzenchitai's final album. If so, at least the band went out in style. This album is superb. Right from the opening chords of the first song, you know that you are in good hands. The songs are well-crafted mid-tempo rock masterpieces, with a few of Tamaki's beautiful ballads mixed in for good measure. The playing is crisp and bright and Tamaki-san's vocals are a creamy delight. For those unfamiliar with Anzenchitai's sound, think of Steely Dan (only more consistent than those SoCal hipsters ever were). Very highly recommended. |
