Beautiful but drastically sad movie. Ninomiya Kazunari's acting is really great. just cannot help but reminding Shuichi, after weeks later His appearance gose quite well with Shuichi's character ...sensitive, overburdened and brilliant. |

A Gripping Suspense
|
It looks like that Japanese film industry has managed to achieve in making many kind suspense thriller films that grips you until the end. You really don't need to watch scary dead people coming back to life to make a good suspense, like this film. Ao no Hono depicts a very realistic plot about a boy who murdered his abusive step father, which in reality this kind of situation can occur. It's really scary in a sense of observing the murder master mind is a young teenager who could have thought that kind of plan to kill and deceive everybody including the loved ones. My kowtow goes to Kazunori Ninomiya (member of Japanese boy band, Arashi)who managed to bring a much intricated character like Shuichi(the lead character) into the screen almost in perfection. Maybe Ao no Hono is not the kind of thriller that can create goosebumps like J-horror film, but it is enough to take you on the edge of your seat to know what's going to happen if Shuichi's crime can be discovered. Watching this film does not waste your penny and time. |

Beautifully crafted suspense.
|
The film depicts a story about a young boy, Shuichi (Nino)who got fed up with his abusive stepfather. One day he saw a blue light in a screen television which gave him an idea to orchestrate a murder of his step father. The suspense started to heat up during the police investigation and how Shuichi tried to outsmart the police, how he strived so hard to hide his emotion of feeling guilty and yet satisfied with the deed he had done. However, Shuichi's crime did not just stop there. It continued when his close friend blackmailed him. With his ingenious mind Shuichi managed to commit another murder. I believe this is the first time I saw Nino of Arashi got challenged in his acting skill as a very complex boy who has a very intricated life he has to deal. Surprisingly he did it very well giving him a well deserved praised for playing Shuichi, the disturbed boy who is full of vengeance toward his step father. Ao no Hono is beautfully crafted suspense-drama for everyone who enjoys this kind of film. The film is quite heavy, even though you have eye candy casts, namely Nino, Aya Matsuura, Toshiaki Karasawa etc. I should say that it's better to pay attention to their acting skills rather than just looking at them. So, give yourself a chance to watch this film. It's good but not entertaining. |
