August 19, 2005 excellent for first tourThe opening of the tour and the way Ai introduced her band were amazing, and very original. There's no fancy stage or lots of fancy costumes, but Ai gave it her all. Overall, I felt this first tour is excellent.
But, I have to say that she could have done a better job performing some of the songs. For most of her ballads, she just sang with the stage blacked out and only head lights over her, while she was either playing the piano or standing at the centre of the stage.
It's kind of like a roller coaster ride: the beginning of the concert is good and draws you in, the middle gets kind of dull and boring, the ending and the encore warps up the entire concert very nicely.
And of course, extra points for haveing the off shots and the secert videos! Overall, I think this DVD is worth getting.Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)
