Beautiful Crochet Spring / Summer 17
March 22, 2009 Better than Volume 16This book contains designs for vests (7), boleros (5), stoles (2), pullovers (5), cardigans (6), hat (1) and puch (1). Overall, the designs are pretty and could suit ladies from different age groups. I thought the designs were better than those in Volume 16 - I thought they were a few tacky-looking designs in Volume 16. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
Imasugu Andekitai -Natrual Knit
March 22, 2009 Contains wearables and other itemsThere are 40 designs and they include wearables like tunics, cardigans, cape/shawl/muffler, vests, hats, bags, an afghan blanket, a hair accessory, coasters etc. This is one of my favourite books 'cos most of the items look attractive. I did not find any tacky-looking designs. Some designs look like they are more suited to teenage girls or young ladies but others could be worn by ladies of different age groups. Spring and Summer Crochet 11
March 22, 2009 Better than Vol.10There are 23 designs. I thought this volume (No.11) was even better than volume 10 of last year. Most if nott all of the designs are wearable and could suit ladies of different age groups. This is one of my favourite patterns books. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
Handmade -Tunics and Camisoles
March 22, 2009 Pretty and wearable designsThere are 20 pretty designs. Personally, I was glad that I did not find any "unattractive" designs or designs that were "thrown in" simply to fill the pages. Each design had its own charm. There is a freshness to the designs but they are more suited for teenage girls and young ladies. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
Knitting for Natural Clothes
March 22, 2009 Nice but average designsThis book has about 44 pattterns: tunics, hats, bags, shawls, hair accessories and trimmings. They all look very nice but I wasn't blown away by the designs. I found the designs rather average, some of which I thought were rather dull and uninspiring. Compared to other books, they were hardly anything that stood out. I was disappointed with this book but then again, someone else might like this book Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

Diagrams/illustrations are in two colours and accompanied with a full colour photograph of each stitch. About 69 knitting stitches are featured in this book. There are no instruction on joining pieces, shaping, etc although there is a section on how to use of different coloured yarn. As the title suggests, the book aims to serve as a guide and provide instruction on how to read Japanese knitting symbols. I do feel the book is worth its price. Did you find this review helpful? Knit Basic 125 techniques
March 22, 2009 A Beginner's Guide to Knitting TechniquesThis book has 114 pages and is packed with colourful illustrations and diagrams. There are full colour photographs of each stitch featured. Illustrations and diagrams to stitch techniques are shown in either in two, three and four colours making it easier to understand what is going on. I find that this book is easier to understand than other books on knitting techniques because on average there are simply more diagrams utilized for each stitch explained. It is more expensive than other books on knitting techniques but I would definitedly recommend it to anyone interested in learning how to knit or how to read Japanese knitting symbols. March 22, 2009 Illustrated guide to knitting stitches
This book has 104 pgs and is lavishly illustrated throughout. There are instructions for around 50 knitting stitches. I find that the illustrations, diagrams and symbols help makes sense of knitting patterns found in Japanese books. The illustrations/diagrams are in two or three colour tones. The photos are in single colour i.e. no full colour photos. The book does go beyond the basics of knitting: there are sections on different methods of joining pieces together, shaping of collar, edges, etc., methods of using different coloured yarn, and so on. Visual knitters will find this book useful although absolute beginners and people who can't read Japanese may find it challenging. Personally I find this book useful and I'm glad I bought it. EMBROIDERY animals & insects
March 11, 2009 A treasury of charming stich designsI really love this book! I did not see the inside of the book prior to purchase and it surpassed my expectations. There are 380 stitch designs most of which are in embroidery form. There is a stitch guide and "templates" to copy from. The designs are simple yet elegant, charming and whimsical. If you like animals and cute stuff, I am sure you'll be pleased with this book. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
CROCHET PATTERNS BOOK 300
May 22, 2008 A treasure trove of patternsI bought this book from YesAsia and the contents of the book exceeded my expectations. I can't read Japanese but the clear pictures, easy-to-follow crochet symbols and visual guide to the different stitches makes this book rather user-friendly. This book will definitely appeal to both experienced and new crocheters looking for fresh patterns. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)
