Hit Me (CD+VCD)
June 12, 2006 2 Excellent Songs...onlyJill and Janice...obviously almost identical in terms of appearance and voices, but extremely different in their styles of songs and singing. Surely, Jill can sing -- her voice is strong, emotional, and powerful, just like her sister. However, this album is mainly for people who enjoy rap, rock, or fast songs. The only two songs that are very good are "Get Out", and "Funny Jealousy". No offence...but the rest are just annoying and a disgrace to one's ears. IF ONLY Jill could sing songs like Janice, OR at least slower, HK-type, more romantic songs AND less rap, I'm sure she will be much more popular (i.e., treated like a singer instead of Janice's sister or have more album copies sold). Jill will not make it to the HK pop line as far as her sister, due to her style of songs (Most HK people DON'T like rap, or buy an album with a majority of English songs.). I hope Jill will change her music style in her future albums. Sorry to compare the two sisters, but facts are facts, and we've got to face them. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
Around the World With Eighty Dollars

June 10, 2006 Not bad...and somewhat good! It's been only half a year since Twins has released their last big hit album "The Missing Piece". This new mando album might have been a rush, due to the fact that there are 3 "old" songs that were on their previous albums, but only made a mandarin version of it, such as "Lifesaver", "The Missing Piece", and "Samba". However, there are some good songs, like "You are the Bravest" (Track 07), and "I Really Want to Love Him" (Track 03). Both of these tracks are very slow, which are the types of styles I prefer, although other people might prefer fast, rock-like songs. There are several fast songs in this album, and they are Tracks 1, 2, and 4. The main theme song in this album "Around the World With Eighty Dollars" has a very fast beat -- also it's filled with various musical styles, voices, tempos, in addition to a vast range of musical instruments. Although it's not my type of song, it's quite unique and "different", compared to the songs Twins usually sing. The two solos that both Gillian and Charlene sang were satisfactory -- nothing too outrageous or exciting, with a usual beat; actually I found those songs boring, since the title of those songs didn't have much meaning to them. I wouldn't highly recommend this album, but if you are a major Twins fans, or if you speak mandarin, then you can give this album a try. Even though Twins are so popular -- in Hong Kong and in Taiwan, etc. -- their voices/vocals still need more work, such as singing with more feelings and emotions. There is definitely improvement in this album - in their singing and mandarin pronounciation. I would like to see Twins with other styles of songs in the future. Keep up your efforts, girls! June 1, 2006 Nothing as terrible as this...Honestly, this is the worst album 2R has ever released. I mean, the songs are terrible, most of them anyway. Yes, there are a few songs worth listening to, BUT those are OLD songs, and shouldn't even be on this album in the first place. They only have 3 NEW songs. Come on, their last album release was in March of 2005, therefore, it's been more than a year since they've come up with anything new, and they've only came up with 3 new songs...and i repeat ONLY 3. And all those 3 songs are terrible. They are neither slow nor fast, have no beat, and their voices aren't very moving. I have no idea what they are singing nor what the songs are about, since none of them are catchy or worth listening to. What a failure this album is! The HK music industry shouldn't have released this album at all, OR they could have waited a couple of years more to actually release a NEW and FULL album with at least 10 new songs. I truly wonder what 2R has been doing in the singing industy since 2005, because this album is just - uuuggghh - BAD!! I was really looking forward to this new album, but when I saw all those old songs and heard the terrible 3, I was in total shock. You 2R fans out there, or people who are even considering buying this album - DON'T, because you'll regret it. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

May 21, 2006 Excellent Songs!!TVB's artists and singers have got a lot of potential and talents. All the songs in this album are phenomenal - each with its unique music, voices, and beats. In my opinion, this is probably the best album you will ever listen to. If you prefer slow, moving songs, then this album is for you. Myolie has a great voice, given that she's only an actress, and not a singer. 2 of the songs by Stephy rocked, as usual, since I love Stephy's style of songs, which are slow and ballads. Linda's "Swear" has a wonderful tune, but her voice needs some work, since it's somewhat shaky - but it's not bad for a first time. Bernice's songs are excellent. Overall, I give the album 10/10, due to the effort put in, and the great songs contained here! Support TVB artists and singes forever! Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
March 7, 2006 Best album ever!!
Personally, I have never heard of any songs by S.H.E., so I decided to give it a try. After hearing the songs in their latest album, Once Upon A Time, I was amazed. Almost all their songs rocked! I quickly fell in love with their greatest smash, "Grey Sky" (Track 05), and also "Won't Be Your Friend" (Track 03), and " Flame of Stars" (Track 10). These songs are so sweet, smooth, releaxing, and their voices sound so tender and moving. This album is much better than their previous albums, in my opinion. Their first track "Don't Wanna Grow Up" features Mozart's creation, which is very original. So what if they copy Mozart's music? This is far yet the funkiest music I've ever heard, and it's GREAT!! The lyrics and music makes you wanna dance! I hope S.H.E continues to release amazing albums like this one. The only track that I don't like is "Sharpshooter" (Track 09), but that's totally fine. Nobody can like every single song in an album. But the rest of the 9 tracks are phenomenal, each song with its own orginality, tunes, and voices. Perfect album!! Did you find this review helpful? March 4, 2006 Quite DisappointedJoey has been releasing such great albums in the past, but this album is a total disappointment. There are reviews saying she is the "queen of canto-pop", which I feel is not true. Yes, Joey has good potential, a pretty good voice, and "so-so" looks, but that doesn't mean she should be at the top. Take this album, for example. The cover is amazingly detailed and new for a change, but the songs are horrible (most of them anyway). The only songs worth listening are probably "The Last Juliet", "Weeping Eyes", and "Modern Times". The rest of the songs are just garbage, compared to the excellent songs that Joey has been recording in the past. No offence to Joey fans out there, but I have to admit that her albums are going downhill. I am not a huge fan of Joey, but I still listen to her songs. All I have to say is that this album is NOT worth buying, due to the poor quality of songs and effort conducted into the album. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

December 13, 2005 Janice Rocks!Janice's new CD, My Love, features songs that range from slow to fast, and languages in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English. There is a great variety of songs. I love Janice's voice - very touching, emotional, and moving. Her voice sounds much better when she sings than when she talks because when she talks, her voice is kind of low and unclear. Anyways, keep up the great work, Janice! This CD is a must buy. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

November 22, 2005 Kellyjackie or Jackie? Anyhow, this album is magniThis album is great! Kellyjackie or Jackie (which seems to be her "real" name) has a great voice - very soothing, relaxing, and high-pitched. It reminds me of miriam yeung singing. All of the songs in this album are magnificent - soft, crisp music with a touch of her splendid voice perfects it. I highly recommend track 2 (he invited me to disneyland), track 3 (princess diary), and track 1 is worth listening to (angel kiss). The rest of the songs are quite attractive too. If you are someone who likes relaxing, slow music, and a singer who has a voice similar to miriam's, then this is the ideal album for you. Jackie is one of the best new singers around, so we've got to give her a chance. The only flaw in this album is that we don't actually see how she looks like due to an album cover with chess pieces. I think the cover has nothing to do with the meaning of the songs, so it is irrelevant, which is wierd. Anyways, this album, once again is highly recommend. I was quite shocked of Jackie's talents in singing. I'll continue to support Jackie, and hope her next album is as great as this one. Hope everyone else reading this will buy her album! Pure NIKI (2nd Version) (CD+DVD)
November 18, 2005 Niki is great for a beginnnerI can't belive how everyone who wrote reviews for niki's "PURE niki" album say she is a terrible singer! So what if she runs out of breath? You've got to give all new singers a chance! I love niki's songs, "To bad he has a girlfriend", "Difficult to become a good person", and "Need wind, have wind". Those are all excellent songs. Niki has a very calm, sweet, relaing voice, which is just perfect. I'm sure niki will improve. In addition, she's a wonderufl actor + got the looks, so she will get hot someday. I do encourage ppl to buy this album. It'll be worth it. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
November 11, 2005 Renee, way to go!!
This cd is wonderful!! Truly wondeful! Renee Tai, Mung Mung has a beatiful voice - smooth, relaxing, calm, sweet, you name it. She is very cute and pretty. Songs I highly recommend are #1, #2, and #3, and as usual, very good songs. Too bad there were mandarin songs (#5, #6, and #7) in this album, which were the same songs as the first three songs except in mandarin...so basically there's only 4 "REAL" songs. Well, Renee keep up the great job. Anyways, this album is a must buy for those who like Renee. I listened to her song "Day Dreamer's Love" and liked her immediately. One good song is all it takes to like a singer, really. Buy this album people!!! You'll like it. Hope Renee has another album coming out soon (with more tracks, and no duplicates) PLEASE!! Haha, lubbb you, Mung Mung. ;) Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)
