Tezuka Osamu's comic book hero Astro Boy has been one of Japan's most beloved and iconic characters since the 1960s. In 2009 Astro Boy flies farther than ever in a 3-D computer animated feature from Hong Kong's Imagi Studios. Though elements have been updated for a new generation, the adaptation directed by David Bowers (Flushed Away) keeps the original story about a robot child with super powers created by a grieving scientist. Rejected by his creator, he sets out on a journey of acceptance, and ends up on a grand adventure to save earth.
Hong Kong Version VCD of Astro Boy comes only with the Cantonese version of the film voiced by Aaron Kwok and Ian Iskandar Gouw.
