YesAsia Editorial Description

Aired in 2003, romantic drama At the Dolphin Bay is certainly one of the most memorable Taiwanese idol drama titles of recent years, with its heartwrenching love story and stellar casting of singer-actress Angela Chang and heartthrobs Ambrose Hsu and Wallace Huo. Though now all big stars, at the time all three leads were still relative newcomers, with Wallace Huo and Ambrose Hsu breaking through the previous year with dramas Star and Lavender. Angela Chang was also just fresh off the success of 2002's MVP Lover, and At the Dolphin Bay would prove to be the launching point for her music career, as her rendition of Journey in the drama introduced audiences to her vocal talent.

As children, Ze Ya made a vow to protect a girl he named Little Cap, but the two lost contact after he was taken in by his wealthy estranged grandfather. Years later, Ze Ya (Ambrose Hsu) has become a successful businessman, but he has never forgotten Little Cap, especially after he realizes it is actually she who is his grandfather's real grandchild. Ridden by guilt, he is willing to do anything to bring her back into the family she belongs, including give up his love. That quiet, crying girl meanwhile grows up to be the bright, hard-working Tian Bian (Angela Chang) who by a twist of fate is picked by arrogant celebrity producer Xiao Gang (Wallace Huo) to become a singer. Enduring the many trials of the industry together, Tian Bian and Xiao Gang grow closer over time, but she too can't forget Ze Ya, and the dolphin legend that binds their hearts and fates together.

quite boring Customer Review Rated Bad 2 - 2 out of 10
This is a 28 epistle drama which could easily be cut down to half. It was terribly boring having dragged on and on and the story bored you stiff having pinched a bit here and there from various Korean dramas and changing it a bit. The horrible loud songs in the foreground covered up all the dialogues in the background making it difficult to hear what the people were saying but even so you still could not help hearing the Cantonese style mandarin spoken by the main male lead and Derek Wan. Ambrose Hsu is unfit to be the main cast and Angela Chang is completely overshadowed by the much more attractive and gentle character of Penny Lin. This is Wallace's another very disappointing TV drama.

better than i thought Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
this taiwan series turned out to be so much more than i expected. will have u in tears from the very first episodes...the child stars in particular - just watching them interact will melt ur heart.

the story is beautiful, involving many important issues such as adoption, illnesses, long lost relatives, jealousy, sibling rivalry. as well as striving to achieve your goal, overcoming all obstacles and staying true to your heart which will keep u enraptured until the very last episode.

it is not one of those dramas that are draggy and slow..it moves at a steady pace while never getting boring. it is sweet, sad, joyful, cute and romantic all at the same time.
perfect for anyone.

A Cinderalla Story!? Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
Well, I used to love this series since it had great story lines and plot. But after watching it like the second time, it makes me feel that everything from the series seemed so unrealistic...Anyways, I still recommand ppl to watch since Wallace is there and he had a wonderful performance as Xiao Gang(the character that I love from the series)...Also, it's the first series that I had watched throughly and started liking Angela's acting...

Wallace is gorgeous! Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
The only thing that holds me to this series is the character Xiao Gang. Although he is ill-tempered and emotional, Xiao Gang is so REAL that I followed his happiness and sadness from the beginning to the end. The character itself is undoubtedly successful and Wallace's awesome peformance just gave Xiao Gang a soul that the audience sees Xiao Gang's warmth, his leniency toward rival Eddy, and of course his eternal love to Tian Bian, under the disguise of his unpredictable and changing moods. In comparison to Zeya(Ambrose), Xiao Gang is much more lively whereas Zeya is nothing more than a romantic hero.
