finally vcds for US market

I've been waiting for sometime to find some VCDs for the US market. I bought this VCD and found it to be pretty good. The quality isn't as good as the DVD, there is no extra features etc.. But the version doesn't have chinese subtitles and the surround sound stereo still maintains THX stereo which can be heard clearly during the beginning of the movie. I'm all for bilingual VCDs but I must admit CDs are supposed to be in stereo and the English version sounds so much better because of it. Price is a bit high, but I wouldn't be surprised with Walt Disney releases. The DVD release is $22, this version is $13.25. Take your pic. |

disney's attempt at anime

Well as an anime fan, I had to watch this. The version I saw was the Disney US release, but the story and the graphics were very interesting. The story follows the traditional Disney story of a scholar who is a linguist and attempts to find the lost world of Atlantis sponsored by his late father's millionaire friend. In pursuit of the lost city, his hired employees have their own agenda of stealing the power crystal which maintains the life force of atlantis. This crystal becomes the center of the story and along with the cute atlantis girl character. All in all, I was impressed with Disney's first attempt in hitting non-musical animated format. The movie was a flop at the box office. I would rate this a 7. |
