The game on the Wii is by no means bad, however it does not live up to the other series titles in the past in terms of the "fun" element.
Phantom Hourglass changed all that though. Zelda is once again as fun as it can be. Solving puzzles, getting items, ship battles, sailing across the ocean. All of that is just brilliant. Some doubt the use of touchpen exclusively, but this game has nailed it. The implementation is pure brilliant and genius.

Almost every single complaint from the first game have been fixed (e.g. skip opening section of songs, practice mode, etc etc). However there is nothing new in the gameplay. The song selection is great, however there is no new formula at all other than a *hidden notes* mode. Having said all of that, it is still a good game nonetheless.
