本作品は、アトランティック・レコードと共に歩み昨2006年12月14日に83歳で死去したアーメット・アーティガン氏の軌跡を描いた作品で、元々はアメリカのテレビ局PBSの＜アメリカン・マスターズ＞シリーズの１作品として制作されたドキュメンタリーです。アーメットの生い立ちからアトランティック・レーベルの設立、1960年代までのレーベルを特徴付けたジャズやリズム＆ブルースのレコードでの成功、1960年代後期のワーナー・グループへの売却、1960年代末期〜1970年代初期にかけてのブリティッシュ＆アメリカン・ロック・アーティストとの契約やローリング・ストーンズ・レーベルの配給、1970年代以降のポップス、ディスコ、スタジアム級ロック・・・。アーメット・アーティガン本人はもちろん、ジェリー・ウェクスラー、リーバー＆ストーラー、レイ・チャールズ、ソロモン・バーク、アレサ・フランクリン、ジミー・ペイジ、ロバート・プラント、ミック・ジャガー、キース・リチャーズ、エリック・クラプトン、ベット・ミドラー、フィル・コリンズ、キッド・ロック、パオロ・ヌティーニ等など、歴代のレーベル関係者／アーティストのコメントやパフォーマンス映像、テイラー・ハックフォード監督（映画『レイ／Ray』『ヘイル！ヘイル！ロックンロール』『愛と青春の旅立ち』）のコメントなどを織り交ぜ、アトランティック・レーベルの歴史が綴られます。
