Boasting an unexpectedly mature voice, ayaka has managed to pile up a remarkable number of hit songs at a young age. This album's "best of" first disc is a tour de force of contemporary J-Pop, showcasing a wide variety of musical styles in 16 well-written, instantly memorable songs. The tenth track on the first disc particularly stood out to me, showing a vulnerable side to ayaka's singing that I hope she explores further in the future. The second disc of fan-selected favorites is very heavy on punchy R&B-flavored tracks. Throughout both discs ayaka's vocals are confident and soulful, able to sound either brassy and sassy or velvety smooth. (And the extensive DVD of videos of her hits is a nice bonus to this package.) Keep ayaka in your prayers as she takes a respite from her career to battle the Grave's disease with which she has been diagnosed. I'm looking forward to hearing much more from her in the future. |

Goodbye for now but not forever

CD one has all her singles! Not much to say since most of you probably have heard them. but here they're on one cd! CD two contains fans selected through a survey + piano version of Minna Sora No Shita, it's to die for. I love the song so much and the piano version is great so I'm really happy it's included! Also the songs: 夢のカケラ (Yume no kakera) and ブルーデイズ (Blue days) - two of my other fave Ayaka songs are on the cd! However I missed some songs.. like ライラライ (Lailalai). but you can't get it all (^__^;;) Anyway Ayaka has one of the best voices in Japan, and in the world. And this is not goodbye forever but a goodbye for now. This is a perfect album and I choosed this version because of the dvd with all her promotion videos. Also if you are keen on Ayaka here is you chance, also if you want good music both lyrics and music, also if you want to listen to a voice that is both powerful and clean, here is your chance.. You'll fall in love!! (^__^) |
