July 31, 2007 Album is averageHacken's performance on this album is terrific as usual and the high standards demonstrated in his singing is similar to the quality of his previous works. Unfortunately, also similar is the lack of variety in his songs. Aside from the principal single (track 5) and track 3, the rest of the songs are not particularly memorable. Even track 1, which is projected to be another single off the album, isn't particularly appealing. Hopefully he will attempt a wider range of songs on his next album.
Overall grade: 7/10

July 31, 2007 Quite a good albumThe sound on this album came as quite a surprise on the first run-through. It is markedly different from Andy's previous albums, with a wide and refreshing range of music genres and accompanying arrangements. In fact, the songs work well together to provide overall listenability from one track to the next.
Individually, the songs are also quite good. I would recommend most of the tracks, with Track 2 being the most original and track 3 being the biggest surprise, since R&B is not one of Andy's strengths. I also particularly enjoyed track 4 and track 9. However, I am not a fan of track 1, which sounded far too much like boy-band material.
Overall grade: 8.5/10

(5)Our Price: US$15.49Usually ships within 7 - 14 daysJune 20, 2007 ImprovementGenerally speaking, this album sounds better than previous ones, namely, due to better production and an improvement in Edisons performance. Edison also does a better job rapping in mandarin than in Cantonese as the language intonation better fits the musical material he has to work with.
However, i found that some the tracks did not have a good flow in terms of the rapping of the lyrics, although in fairness, the music arrangements worked well. Also, the overall album lacked cohesiveness from one song to another. Individually, the tracks were "ok" but not brilliant, except track 1, which I found to be quite unique (eastern/western fusion), catchy, and worth listening to.
Overall, Edison needs to develop his own signature sound instead of trying to blend into styles better suited to other artists. An example is track 2, where his voice lacks the bass to bring out the essence of the song. He may be trying too hard to emulate western artists.
Nevertheless, this album demonstrated evident improvement, so I will give him another chance on his next album. Good effort but lots of room to get better: 6/10
