太子棒球隊與安邦隊對決比賽中，太子隊全壘打王何飛力，因對方投手投出大暴投直擊他的頭盔，而當場海扁對方防守員，雙方球員大打一架，太子隊被判禁止比賽。校方大呼丟臉，并做出解散球隊的決議，教練阿諾力挽狂瀾，校長徐捷也幫阿諾說話，董事會才給阿諾最后一次機會﹕3個月內若沒打進大學棒球?速悐Z金杯，恢復校譽，即解散球隊。

阿諾要太子隊的隊員重新振作，但是隊員們卻絲毫不領情，除了家境清寒的龍貓之外，其余的球員在何飛力的帶頭慫恿之下，集體請辭。阿諾除了盡全力說服球員們重返球隊，也想盡辦法挖掘頗具潛力的球員。一天，阿諾見不識相的送報生追風還是無視於他已經要求不要再送報紙的告示，依舊將報紙投入他的信箱。被追風氣得七葷八素的阿諾，卻見追風單手催機車油門，另一手神速地扔報紙﹗他把原本九公分寬的信箱口，改成了六公分、三公分，那知追風偏偏照進不誤﹗阿諾知道他已發現了一位不可多得的棒球奇葩，對追風展開積極游說，卻發現原來追風原本就是太子隊的當家投手，當年因為家中遭逢變故，休學離開球隊。阿諾為了說服追風，為太子隊效力，不惜放棄對兒子小勇的監護權，以取得五十萬元的“補償”，全數用來喚j追風，也因為只顧著爭取太子隊的重生，與繼續說服追風的行動，而忘記了與小勇的約定，導致小勇在大雨中等候阿諾，因淋雨而高燒重病，加深了妻兒對他的不諒解，這一切，都看在追風的眼里...。
