Another mini from Charlene (no not the car or skirt), but five more optimistically themed album songs to reflect upon. Apart from a little sombre theatre by the grungy building backdrops and ‘fashion statements’ in the album book photos and MV, the contrastingly beautiful photos of Charlene certainly reflect her more natural personality. But this like all Charlene’s solo albums certainly sport interesting imagery and design. The five songs here range from light upbeat pop/rock and sensitive ballads. I mainly liked the light fun-rock “Making a Fuss”, though, which is also included as a MV on the DVD with Charlene in her more ‘usual self’ as a spectacled office girl. “Making a Fuss” (Twins controversies aside) is a song many can identify with, about not being afraid to be yourself, even when making mistakes! Everybody makes ‘mistakes’ but these experiences help us grow spiritually better, and at least dealing with contention and loving yourself will enhance love/sharing over life’s demanding and negative divisions. Beauty remains when true to yourself and feel positively happy inside (without needing to gravitate towards self-conceitedness), trusting who you are. So, (after all my ‘fussy’ waffle) “Making a Fuss” is a song about the skin not overriding the inner you. Skin’s only part of us! Or to be a bit poetic: The soul, moved away into life’s barbed roads, remains safe in childhood yesterdays and made wiser from such dark sorrows, and returns at time’s release. “Beauty Remains”. See, you live and learn.

“Simplicity” also on the DVD with even more fun projecting Charlene, and this version also includes and extra MV of “Early Recovery Without Medicine”. Although I have the iPhone case version, this second version 2 also is a jewel case CD/DVD combo in a slipcase, but minus the long outer box and an iPhone case. Tracks in English are: 1. Simplicity 2. Early Recover Without Medicine 3. Making a Fuss 4. Black and White 5. Little Joke. (DVD – tracks 1, 2 and 3). Heard recently about Charlene’s recent fainting spells. Hard work certainly! But you know, I think this is Charlene’s reaction to Robbie Williams (big fan of Robbie, right?) getting back in Take That again (I know, its another William). Seriously Charlene, be spontaneous, recharge those batteries and go and see Take That in concert with all your mates, man.
