Great songs and performance Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I've used to be a huge fan of Shirley back in the 80's and 90's but have not heard any of her old or newer songs for many years. I'm really glad that I get to listen to her old songs again because they brought back a lot of old memories from my teenage years. Her performance in this concert was pretty good too because I remember seeing a previous concert of hers where she sounded like running out of breath at times. It seems like she was better prepared this time and handled every song very well or maybe it's just that she was more experienced in performing live this time around. Her 2nd and 3rd VCD's are my favorite as they have a lot of her popular slow love songs. I think it's very touching to see that her fans sang along to help her finishing one of the songs as she was crying and wasn't able to finish it.

Also, listening back to these old songs really make me appreciate some of the previous song writers more. The lyrics really told stories and well thought out in comparison with pop songs nowadays where they just repeatedly sing the few same words over and over again.

I really think she deserved to be more successful than she really was back in the days. But it's irrelevant to her now that she's a mom. She's still a cute girl for a woman her age. I love her dimples ;)

A Must-Have Sweet Re-Union Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Shirley Kwan's singing ability is unparalleled. Her feminine voice is filled with energy, speed, and dynamics. Shirley reminds me of Celine Dion here in the US. With that much talents and skills, Shirley Kwan expresses her emotion freely, full of rhythm in her songs. Shirley is a class act. Due to my busy schedule, I often forgo my song-listening hobbies months or years at a time when my children dictate my priorities. But I cannot forget, and will not forget Shirley's immense talents in the studio or on stage. Often times, after listening to the new-comers briefly, I find myself going back to Shirley's songs, many of which are classics. Shirley Kwan's recent 2006 concerts is a much desired and treasured 10-years re-union, to me personally, with her fans and those who recognize and appreciate her abilities and natural talents. Does Shirley bring up your inner emotions when you listen to her sing?

If you want to find out who is Shirley Kwan, this VCD of Shirley's Live 2006 really shows what she is capable of. Very versatile in singing, dancing, handling the atmosphere, etc. Look around HK, I can't find a female artiste who can match Shirley's stage performance, with the exception of the late Anita Mui. With the right support, a couple of quality album release in a row, she could be the queen among the heavenly queens of canto-pop. It's a pity the song list of VCD is incomplete (no Anthony Wong and Grasshopper).

I always like shirley voice. she has a unique floating voice. Pity her career did not take off as good as expected. The concert was excellent. Looking forward to her latest album next time.

Listening to Shirley Kwan, one wouldn't think she's 39. Time, obviously, did not do any damage to her beautiful singing voice. As one of Hong Kong's most underrated, Shirley Kwan makes a triumphant comeback with her latest tour, "Being Shirley On Stage 2006". Often reported as evasive, resistant, elusive and aloof, speculate no more as our 'diva' is back, big time. This time, she managed to squeeze past the vast sea of so-called 'divas' of the current bland and boring as hell near-dead Cantopop industry, back into the throne where she so deservingly belongs, even after a 10-year hiatus. It's about time she return and show them how it's ought to be done. Watch out because this strutting diva has still got the moves. "Being Shirley On Stage 2006" is, basically, what I like to call a history of substance and success, a biography ghosted by the artist herself, and the very best of that genre of music. As a fan for 17-years running, I had almost given up hope. But her return emerged blinking in the light out of the darkness...and I caught sight of it. It was spectacular.
