November 17, 2006 Good but with flawsOverall a good and watchable movie. I marked this movie a notch down for the opening scene. How could Ngok Wah go undetected is beyond belief. Moreover, with all those gesturing back to forth, Lo Lieh must realy be stupid to be conned in the cousin relationship of Li Ching and Ngok Wah.
But if you can see through these, the rest of the movie is quite exciting.
Overall this is quite a good one. I have seen other movies with even sillier plot and scenes

Too bad there is no English subtitles so I have be guessed some of it. But the story line is simple to follow.
Worth the watch.

Of all her movies, Susanna is definitely Li Ching's best. Should have been awarded "best actress" for her role.
This movie is a gem. Only fault is that certian part are not fully restored. But I am not complaining.
Highly recommended. Watch it with a box of tissues.

September 27, 2006 Thumbs Up for this one.I thought this movie was a spin off from Mr Funny Bone and I would be giving the "skip" button another good work out. To my surprise the Happy Trio is a very good movie. The pace is just right. Li Ching's role is unlike any of her other movies and I did find her very refreshing.
Although the film has some depressing moments but it has a good ending, leaving me feeling good. Another movie on the top shelf.

July 22, 2006 AmbushGetting Shaw's DVD is more and more difficult in Sydney. A number of shops have closed. I was trying to get a copy of this for a while. Thanks, to the first reviewer on this DVD, for alerting me to the free shipping offer. Took the oportunity to get a few more which I just could not find here or in Malaysia.
I could not remember a thing about this movie. Therefore this is not one of Li Ching's movie I am eagerly waiting for. But one I would buy just to complete her collection. Surprising enough this one is quite good. Better than a lot of other Wu Xia movies I have seen. But the actor is not dashing enough.

April 12, 2006 Badly shotIn 1998 I bought the Frances Yip & the HK Phil Orchestra dics. It was good. Since then I been to her concerts. One theme was constant in this. She kept repeating the same story in between songs. So I was hesitant to buy this release.
It anyone can sing with the backing of an Orchestra, it will have to be Frances Yip. She has that powerful voice. Unfortunately, not her fault, the band had her chords sunk at times.
I bought this before I read the previous reviewer on this disc.Would not have bought it otherwise. But I did not regret, as I like the part where she introduced the different sections and chinese musical instruments. Was educational to me. And the Orchestra also played one of my favourite song.
Overall, keeping the faults of those who shot and record this concert aside, it as a good one for her fans.

However, her previous swordfighting sagas (with the exception of Killers Five) were co-starred by actors like Ti Lung and David Chiang who satisfied audience with such skills. Chiao Hsiong, the male lead, is a bit of disappointment. Was injured for a great part of the movie and Li Ching and other minor stars were left to hold the fort.
Overall, this is quite a good movie, esp for Li Ching's fans.

The Ghost Lovers (Hong Kong Version)
February 28, 2006 Not on DVD?I was waiting quite early for this release. I missed it when shown back then. Was at first, disappointed that this is a "VCD" only release.
The story line is good but this film lacks depth. The first half of the story was so long drawn that one begin to lose interest.
At the end, I am glad it is only VCD.
Scoring it a 6 purely because I am an ardent fan of Li Ching.

February 28, 2006 This one is OK.I tell myself I will never watch another Dirctor Lu Chi's film after "Sexy Girls Of Denmark". But this one wasn't bad. While most of Li Ching roles have been cameo in recent release by Celestial, she starred quite prominetly here. I was a bit surprised given than Chen Ping was rather "hot" at that time, her role was very minor. This one is defintely for Li Ching's fan.
The film has been titled to mislead. Quite tragic.

Donald Cheung In Concert Karaoke (DVD)
September 15, 2005 Golden voiceI have never heard of Donald before. I heard his singing by chance - and that golden voice of his just strike me. Am so glad now that I bought this DVD and since then I have played it so many many times. Pure magic and highly recommended.

Beautifully restored - and all those previous poor quality versions of this movie can now be binned. Thank you Celestial for this one. Thank you.
