盛夏午後一場突來的雷陣雨，小風和菲菲初次相遇。
剛退伍的小風來到他夢想中的台北，渴望出人頭地賺大錢。菲菲因逃家在外時被母親逮個正著，兩人大吵一架後，菲菲再度悄然離家。菲菲和好友怡麗投靠朋友阿光，擁有整排霓虹閃爍檳榔攤的他，讓她們兩人加入穿著清涼、扮相冶豔的檳榔西施行列，以色相吸引顧客上門。
不想再當麵包師傅的小風因緣際會下與菲菲相識，進而墜入情網。小風為了菲菲努力掙錢而回到麵包師傅的工作，但因阿光不斷引誘，他不知不覺地捲入黑道生活。而菲菲卻意外地被電影導演相中，開始了她的演藝生涯。這對戀人在他們年輕恣意的飛揚歲月中，命運多舛，兩人漸行漸遠，最終小風竟走向不歸路。
