YesAsia Editorial Description

Bichunmu (a.k.a. Dance In the Sky) is a popular comic series published in Korea over a decade ago. The comic series was first adapted into the blockbuster movie starring Kim Hee Sun (The Myth) and Shin Hyun Jun, and later into a TV series featuring popular Korean stars Park Ji Yoon and Ju Jin Mo, and Chinese actor Wang Ya Nan. The story is set in China in the Ming Dynasty. Like many well-known TV epics, the story revolves around a forbidden love between a young man, extremely skilled in martial arts, and a girl whose father murdered his own father. The day when they meet each other again after twenty years' separation may be the moment when they have to bid each other farewell forever...

It's very well done Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
At TEd: this is actually a very well done drama. I'm so glad that it deviated strongly from the movie version. About the costume design--it was impeccable and more accurate to its time than Zhang Yimou's artistic creations--it's a bit unfair to even compare because they're so different. Only the nobility could afford dyed cloth. I was really impressed with the martial arts choreography too. I could really see the Chinese production in it. Joo Jin Mo has electrifying screen presence. He really does.

Soundtrack? / Brief Review Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
I know there isn't a soundtrack available for this series (yet...hopefully), but there is just that one song I really want the whole version of but cannot find. There are only two major songs with lyrics used in the entire series, and both of them appear to be sung by the same artist. I cannot read or understand Mandarin, so if anyone can help me identify the name of the artist, or better yet, the name of the songs, I would greatly appreciate it.

Despite the lack of multi-million-dollar funding commonly associated with modern Hollywood, the series is very well done and well written for a medium budget film, although it tends to have its "moments." Once in a while the drama can get too out of hand, but nonetheless it is made up for with the engaging storyline, great cast of expressive characters, and the very well-choreographed fighting/action scenes. Although it's no House of Flying Daggers or Musa: The Warrior, it is definitely a must-see for the martial arts/drama series junkie, and even more for Joo Jin Mo fans because he is, for lack of a better term, really badass in his role as Zhen-ho.

A Disappointment Customer Review Rated Bad 4 - 4 out of 10
I do not know why Joo Jin Mo agreed to do this television series. It is poorly photographed (the color is horrible) and the costumes (where did the costume designer come from?)look like they came off a used clothing store. Maybe I have gotten used to seeing HOUSE OF FLYING DAGGERS, HERO, THE BANQUET, etc. I collect Joo Jin Mo DVDs, and this is the worst. Joo Jin Mo should not waste his time and talent on lousy directors. I am on my fourth disc and have been fast forwarding to watch the scenes were Joo Jin Mo is in. What a waste of money.

A Great Movie Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
A Good movie. I like this series a lot, both the story, the actor and sceneries. It is a very touching series that you will want to keep watching until you finish the whole set. Ju Jin Mo is especially cool and handsome in this movie.
