Big Bang Love, Juvenile A is another unusual film with strong artistic flavor from famous director Miike Takashi, whose diverse repertoire of works include Ichi the Killer, One Missed Call, and The Great Yokai War. He utilizes a lot of stage drama devices in directing this movie version of the popular manga Shonen A Ereji. The queer elements, suspense, and futuristic setting all serve to engage the viewers into this extraordinarily imaginative film.

Alluringly gorgeous Ryuhei Matsuda, after the very popular NANA, returns to a queer role as in his screen debut Gohatto in 1999. He plays prisoner Jun in Big Bang Love, Juvenile A, which is set in a jail in an unknown time. Jun gets entangled in an ambiguous relationship with Shiro, portrayed by the charismatic Masanobu Ando from Aegis, who was put in jail on the same day as he was. The story starts with the murder of Shiro, and Jun sits beside Shiro murmuring that he killed him...

The Deluxe Edition now comes with a bonus DVD with making-of features, photo gallery of the two leading actors, premiere gala footage, and interview with director Miike Takashi. Postcards and stills are also included.
