2005년 대중들이 가장 기대하는 가수, 빅마마가 그들의 2집을 발표한다. 음악계에서 소문난 노래꾼 4명을 모아 오직 음악의 힘만으로 승부한 빅마마는 뛰어난 가창력과 실력으로 1집 앨범 발매 이후 2년여의 시간이 흘렀음에도 여전히 대중들의 절대적인 지지를 받고 있는 것이다. 이는 2003년 빅마마가 단 한 장의 앨범으로 대중들이 오랫동안 잊고 있었던 ‘노래의 힘’을 실현시키고 음악계를 넘어 사회적인 화제를 불러일으켰던 것과 일맥상통한다고 할 수 있다.
1집 앨범 발표 후 2년 3개월 만에 2집 앨범 [It’s Unique]를 세상에 내놓은 빅마마는 2집 앨범에서 자신들이 직접 만든 음악 속에 자신의 생각을 불어넣어 1집보다 더욱 뚜렷하게 빅마마 만의 색깔을 만들어낸다. 그리고 그 노래 속에는 자신이 하고 싶은 이야기들을 진솔하게 표현하는 여성 그 자체로서의 모습(Woman Being)이 담겨 있다. 또한 [It’s Unique]는 빅마마의 멤버들이 앨범 제작을 주도했다. 빅마마의 큰언니 신연아가 앨범의 전체 프로듀싱을 맡은 것은 물론, 앨범 수록곡의 반 이상을 빅마마 멤버들이 직접 작곡했고, 대부분의 곡을 작사했다. 지난 2월 2집 발표 직전 이미 제작된 앨범의 전량 폐기 처분이라는 극단의 조치를 취했던 것도 프로듀서로 참여한 빅마마 멤버들의 의견이 반영된 것이었다. 결과적으로 전체 앨범은 물론 한 곡 한 곡의 완성도를 중요시한 빅마마 멤버들의 노력과 열정이 가득한 빅마마 2집 [It’s Unique]이 탄생할 수 있었다.

They need to enter the American market!

Yes indeed, WOW!! There are many good singer and great singers...but Big Mama are one of those groups that you will see once in like half a century or so. This group needs to be seriously hit the American market...honestly, they are better than most American divas of today...best since Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross, Patti Labelle, Gladys Knight... Okay. the 2nd album is very different from the 1st album, which was more of soul/R&B...but this 2nd album has better production and the vocal arrangements are exceptional... Ji-young Lee (the one w/ low/husky voice) is Amazing!! Korea should be proud of Big Mama~ |

big mama is indeed the best female music group out there in korea so far their voices are so powerful so unique. i would tell my friends to buy this album its worth it |

BIG dissapointment

I really enjoyed their first album which is the reason why I got a friend to buy me the second album from korea. The second album is different than the first. They sound different, their style is different. I didnt like it. I prob. found only one track that i enjoyed.... Waste of money. |

Wow just WOW

I personally liked their first album better but this album is just "WOW!" Their voices are AMAZING. They can't compare to some of the "singers" that are in the Korean music industries these days. They truly DESERVE to be getting so much more attention for their talent. This is DEF recommended from me. Their voices, songs are just mind blowing. |

WOW. yes the CD is WOW. definitly a must by to add to your collection. big mama's voices just touches your heart, the songs are so beautiful and wonderfully put together. one of the BEST albums of the year, it has romantic, jazz, upbeat R&B, just sit on ur coach and pop in the CD and relax. truely a fantastic album!! |
