The acting isn't as good either, although the girls are good at making effective pained expressions whenever a ghost is near. There are a few very interesting settings, most notably the sterile hallways of the housing block (like in the original) and a passable attempt to depict an alternate universe of ghosts. The DTS surround sound is very good, and the film uses the rear channels well. Overall, this is an entertaining movie, with lots of twists and turns, but as others have said, it's more of a comedy than a horror movie. The ending is supposed to be sad and romantic, but after all the goofiness, it doesn't have much of an impact. There are LOTS of references to teen culture, a cast of pretty girl and pretty boy Hong Kong kid actors, and jokey references back to the first Eye. Normally, I hate that sort of thing, but the lighthearted spirit of the film carries it. This one is worth the price.
