高校卒業と同時に徴兵されたユージンは、訓練所に向かう列車の中で同じように徴兵された若者たちと出会うが、文才を秘めたエプステイン以外は騒々しくて好きになれなかった。やがて訓練所で10週間に渡る軍事訓練がはじまった。ユージンたちの指導教官は穏やかながらも奇行癖のあるトゥーミー軍曹だった。ユージンは自由行動日だけを楽しみに厳しい訓練に耐え、やがて自由行動日に出かけた町のダンス・パーティでデイジーという名のかわいい少女と出会う。若い2人が急接近していく一方で、訓練所ではユージンの書いた日記が大きな問題を招いて…。 ■映像特典：オリジナル劇場予告編
