International martial arts superstar Jet Li stars in Black Mask, a stylish neo-future actioner about a former assassin who dons a mask to fight crime. Jet Li is Tsui, who seems to be nothing more than a bookish librarian. His pal, Inspector Shek (Sean Lau Ching Wan), thinks Tsui is a wimp and needs to learn to stand up for himself. But Shek doesn't know the truth: Tsui was once in a group of genetically-engineered assassins called Squad 701. Li was part of “Squad 701”, a team of professional killers known as Black Mask, who do not feel pain or emotions. When the team was “exterminated” by the government after they discovered that some squad members are still capable of feelings, Li goes into hiding as a librarian. However, when another member of the Squad begins killing every major drug market, Li has to don the identity of Black Mask once again......
