　　夕正過著平凡人生活之際，701部隊突然出現。夕好友石Sir（劉青雲）與警方皆束手無策，夕見好友處於危難中，於是為好友化身黑俠出手對抗701部隊。黑俠的出現令701首腦熊菊（龍剛）大為震怒，派遣隊中夕的舊情人若蘭（葉芳華）引黑俠出現，結果……

　　Jet Li stars in this futuristic techno-action thriller based on a popular Hong Kong comic book. Li was part of “Squad 701”, a team of professional killers known as Black Mask, who do not feel pain or emotions. When the team was “exterminated” by the government after they discovered that some squad members are still capable of feelings, Li goes into hiding as a librarian. However, when another member of the Squad begins killing every major drug market, Li has to don the identity of Black Mask once again……

Don't get the dubbed (Artisan) version! Customer Review Rated Bad 6 - 6 out of 10
Granted this is not a good film by any stratch of imagination, but some parts of it are still enjoyable (in a guilty pleasure way). This version is cut to avoid a CAT III rating (because of the gore) so parts of it don't make sense; still I enjoy it because 1). the action (some people complained about the editing but as a trained martial artist some of the action is actually pretty cool) 2). it's stylish 3). Francoise Yip is hot 4). Lau Ching Wan and Karen Mok are great. If you watched the dubbed (Artisan version) and have some spare change, at least rent it and see the difference.

Li Lien Jie, I hope i spelled it correctly, was good with Lau Ching Wan. I wish they had done another to this. I hope one day they will work again, together.

I'm very disapointed with the fact that the dubbing was poor in some places and that this version is actually CUT!!! It's not the version I saw round my friend's house, if I'd know this from the start I wouldn't have bought this DVD from HK!

A dvd of good quality, the film is fantastic, the dts sound is powerful and the spectators won't get boring. A good Movie with our best loved dts sound, magnificent !

Black Mask - Not the Best Customer Review Rated Bad 2 - 2 out of 10
I bought this film only recently, (region 4 version). Sorry to all Jet Li fans but whilst the action sequences were enjoyable, the appalling dubbing drops this film into the dirt. Why? For God's sake why? Karen Mok speaks flawless english and surely there are enough Cantonese or expat' caucasians that could've been hired in to do the voices for any actor that couldn't speak english. What's on the track is simply shocking, far from Tsui Harks best work and simply doesn't do justice to Karen nor to her co-stars. I can't even bring myself to watch this film again, at least not the R4 version.
