「スーパーマン」「バットマン」等に続き、アメリカの人気コミックを実写化。主演は「アウト・オブ・ウォー」の人気黒人俳優、ウェズリー・スナイプス。監督はSFXアーティスト出身のスティーブン・ノリントン。スナイプスのほぼスタント無しのアクションはもちろん、演技派としての見せ場もたっぷりの、迫力満点のスリラー・アクション・ムービーだ。
