Blessing (Warner Music, 1988) Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
I went to my church choir member's house to have our group gathering. We sung karaoke, had dinner, a few of us watched a movie or two with one of the member's teenage son and daughter, and golden pop classics music appreciation (eg. Elvis Presley). I was amazed at the couple's (church choir member and her husband) personal CD and VCD/DVD collection in this house of their's. Over hundreds, I think even a thousand or so. They also have a large collection of L.P.'s. too. Among that mass number of music products, I found the original 1988 version of Sally Yeh's "Blessing" and I was over the moon. The previous reviews I typed about this product was based on the dublicate copy on a blank cassette with no lyrics attached. I was after the lyrics, so I can get a further understanding of what she has sung, because my Chinese isn't 100%(especially written). It took me some getting used to the arrangement as recorded in the original, because the songs printed on the back cover of the CD, doesn't correspond with the recorded work. Tracks 7-13 was recorded as tracks 1-7, and tracks 1-6 was to be tracks 8-13. Confusing isn't it? Plus, the printed lyrics had songs - "Blessing" being track 1 up to "Only You" being track 6, "Red Rose" being track 7, up to "Over The Rainbow" being track 13, when it should be in the other way around as I previously explained. If you bought the original CD in 1988, you'll know what I mean. I love the lovely and simply shot photos of Sally. "Blessing" (track 8) was a crowd favourite over many years and the song won itself quite a few music awards (including Best of the Top Ten (at the J.S.G Best 10 Awards Presentation 1988), plus the Best Lyricist Award going to Poon Wai-yuen (at the same music awards ceremony), who also written lyric for track 11 - "Only It". Five songs had lyrics written by the late Richard Lam Chun-keung, in which I rank as my most favourite Cantopop lyricist of all time. The late James Wong Jim also composed and written two lovely songs, with one being the movie theme song for "Chinese Ghost Story". My favourite tracks being "Red Rose" (track 1), "Don't Arrive, Dawn" (track 3), "Hugging Me Deeply" (track 4), "Over The Rainbow" (track 7), "Blessing" (track 8), "The Answer" (track 12) and "Only You" (track 13). It's these 8 songs that sticks in my mind the most long after I listened to them. Sometimes I hum or whistle the tunes in public. That's my pure affection for these songs. I hope you'll find this review helpful, or at least lead you in possibly buying this DSD CD version of this 1988 CD by Sally. Ta.

A Blessing from Sally Yeh..... Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
Sorry I was meant to type in 13 songs, not ten songs. Guys and gals, if you're a music lover, or if you're a devoted fans of Sally Yeh's, you shouldn't go pass this lovely music album of Sally's from the year of 1988. She won a few music awards for her song - "Blessing". 1988 was a year of blessing for Sally Yeh's singing career. From 1983/84 to now, Sally Yeh has continued to mesmerise us with her passionate and lovely singing voice, and I love her very much for that. Thanks Sally for all the great songs and lovely memories. Here's to an everlasting singing career! Cheers!

A Blessing from Sally Yeh..... Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
Would you like to receive a blessing from Miss Sally Yeh? Here's your chance to do so right now with the purchase of the lovely CD - "Blessing". All ten songs are from an above average standard to pure excellence. My most favourite song tracks from this album are tracks 1 (Blessing), 5 (An Answer), 6 (Only You), 9 (Don't Come, Day Break), 10 (Hugging Me Passionately) and, 13 (Over The Rainbow), simply because the songs were very well composed, very well written and very well sung. And purely because I just love it to bits for its music and its lyrics. I'm mesmerised by it. Other song tracks are not far behind in being my personal favourites. If possible, I would love to buy this album at a Chinese record store in Sydney's Chinatown (at either Po Hong Stationery Co. or Sun Fung Co. or at another Chinese record store). I wouldn't miss this CD for the world.
