Great acting, good fights
Very good acting by the two main characters. The story is well written and the fights are good ( sometimes slow cause of David Cheng ability !!). But like I said you'll want this one more fore the acting and story than for the fights. And I know a lot of people who prefer the other way around. So make your choice. |

Engrossing action flick
Solid performances from all the leads and all the usual excellent Shaw Brothers production values make this movie well worth watching. In particular, the sensitive handling of the growing affections between Jing Li's character and Di Lung's character make this movie rise above typical actioners. I have two gripes with the movie. First, the film editing is strikingly abrupt in a few instances. Second, the transformation of Di Lung's character from being exceptionally honorable to becoming power mad and evil rang false with me. These caveats aside, this movie is highly recommended. No Di Lung fan should be without it. |

This's one of my favorite Zhang Che films. Unfortunately, the movie's presented in letterbox format, the definition's horrible on a 16:9 TV. Please, Mr Celestial Pictures, do us a favor ! A new version in 16:9 format would be more enjoyable. |

Chang Cheh's Bullet in the Head
This perhaps one of the best Chang films of the 70s. The heroic trio of David Chiang, Ti Lung and Chen Kuan Tai along with Ching Li provide a gripping story of friendship and betrayal. In many ways similiar to John Woo's Bullet in the head(he was assistant Director) on it but in Ching Dynasty. This film has aged gracefully from the 70s and is watchable again and again. |
