　　It is a story about high school anarchy in the long, bruised-and-battered tradition of BE-BOP HIGH SCHOOL and FUDOH. This school is surrounded by misleadingly picturesque cherry trees in full bloom, it's the students who set the rules while uncooperative teachers are dangled from windows. In this power structure, the leader is decided by a peculiar game of dare: hanging from the rooftop fence, he who can clap his hands the highest number of times without plummeting to his death is king. Violent assaults on the throne are punished with a severe bruising or in worse cases with a kitchen knife in the gut. The desolate concrete hallways of the building are covered floor to ceiling in black graffiti, which acquires a new coat each time another student comes to power.

Teen Cult Classic!!! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
At this high school you become the boss hanging off the roof railing and clapping. He who claps the highest before falling to his death is the winner and the school’s top dog. The start of the film places the emotionless Hiro as the new leader but its not long until his rule is put under pressure by boss wannabe’s and even his own friends….

Mixing the feel of Clockwork Orange, This is England, Donnie Darko and Trainspotting, Blue Spring is a unique and engrossing look at teen life.
The acting is fantastic and the fight sequences are so realistic that you feel every ‘nasal twist’ and baseball bat to the groin!!!! Also the way the film is shot is original and interesting as there are some nice slow motion set pieces and a good use of a rocking, wailing soundtrack.

I have to admit I thought this film would be more comedy than realism and so I was shocked to find myself, not laughing but actually relating to the characters. All the boys are fighting against broken dreams and broken friendships. They are trying to find their place in the world but they lack direction and opportunities. This leads them into various undesirable situations from joining the Yakuza, murder and suicide. So although it has its moments of humour I think at its heart it’s a film that all of us can relate to…..well except the whole joining the yakuza, suicide and murder part…I would hope!!!!

Blue Spring is a unknown classic of Japanese cinema and really it deserves to been a global teen cult classic!!!

A Masterpiece Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I first bought this movie after seeing Ryuhei Matsuda's stunning performance in Gohatto, but I had no idea what a masterpiece I was buying. This ingenius work with its outstanding acting and impeccable sound design (marvelous soundtrack by Thee Michelle Gun Elephant) and all around awesome cinematography was absolutely breathtaking! This story is more than just about school boys, its a story of politics, friendship, life, love, changes--- everything! I cannot describe in words how phenomenal this film is. It is definitely a must see for one and all; My favorite movie of all time. Also, everyone should give the original manga a read as well!

I bought this movie just because of its price but when I saw it...for some reason, I wished I'd paid more for it. This is an awesome movie...great actors (like Matsuda), great everything...!!

Just get it. With this unbeatable price you have nothing to lose. I waited a year for this version with English subtitle to come out.

Top stylish movie with top tunes (music)and many memorable scenes. It was filmed beautifully. Clear Spring Blue sky, blossomed Sakura trees contracting the voilent, aimless youth lives in the high school.

I just saw this movie, and was surprised at the price. That actor from collage of our lives' in this movie and he did a excellent job. If you liked river city ransom as a kid, then you'll enjoy this film. There's no love storys or girl interests, etc. Heck, most of this movie was about teenage angst, gangs and testosterone driven rage.

There was some crazy scenes and shocking ones to boot. I never expected it to be this good, and I'm glad I got this. At the price, its a steal, but don't get it in a 3 for 10 special as the system would charge you more... Doesn't make sense does it?
