Good CD
| I must agree with my previous reviewer. This album's great and is worth your bucks especially if you didn't already buy the first one. The new tracks are excellent, but I would've preffered a remix of I Did It For Love instead of the Radio Edit of Energetic. Other thing is that, as my previous reviewer already said is that there's only a photo on front and back of the lyrics booklet and one on first page when you open it. The rest of the pages are the lyrics written in plain text on white paper with no sort of fancy design or nothing. Even her Japanese singles have like 2-3 pictures. That's just cheaping out, and I even posted my opinion on her American website hoping maybe BoA or someone from her staff might read it. I bought two copies of this album elsewhere on the day of its release to support her here in Canada. I also saw a few other people buy it and I wish her the best of luck but she needs to not cheap out on the lyrics booklets and start advertising more. So on whole, give it an 8.5/10... and I look forward to her two upcoming Japanese singles. |

I bought this in American stores (Barnes & Nobles) for the same price here in order to make it count on the Billboard charts. I had to show BoA some support. ^_^ Overall, I bought this for the repacking photography and the extra tracks. The extra tracks are EXCELLENT, my favorite being Control. This is a track I feel was well developed and I think BoA should have just used this track for the new PV instread of the repetitive track Energetic. This would sound good live and I can already see a dance routine to this. Crazy About is another good track that has a nice bounce to it. It feels like a club song to bounce to. ^^ I can see this being remixed soon. ^^ The Radio Version of Energetic is the same as the original except for the fact that there's an interlude near the end... But I like the track. The real reason I gave this an 8/10 is because I was disappointed with the booklet. Usually in repackaged albums, either the CD case is different (different material or something special), there are more photos, or there's a DVD attached. I didn't really expect a DVD attachment because US albums don't really do that. However, I did expect more PHOTOS in the book. There's a total of 3 photos... (the cover, the back cover, and 1 inside picture which looks like the back cover in reverse.) When it comes to SM Entertainment, I expected something more... BUT for those who haven't bought the original album, this is an awesome chance to get more for your buck with the extra tracks. Support BoA if you haven't already. ^^ |

AWESOME ALBUM!

I already liked BoA's first US American album entitled "BoA" and am now very happy that a DELUXE EDITION of it comes out! That's the real tracklist: 01. Energetic (Radio Edit) 02. Control 03. Crazy About 04. I Did It For Love (featuring Sean Garrett) 05. Did Ya 06. Look Who's Talking 07. Eat You Up 08. Obsessed 09. Touched 10. Scream 11. Girls On Top 12. Dress Off 13. Hypnotic dancefloor 14. Energetic As you can see, "BoA DELUXE" contains 3 more tracks than the original album! Most all I like the songs "I Did It For Love", "Energetic" (the Radio Edit is awesome!), "Did Ya", "Eat You Up", "Obsessed" and and and... yeah, I can say that I like the whole album! So if you want BoA's US album, buy this version as the cover's also better than "BoA". The album gets 9 out of 10 points and is really amazing. I totally recommend this album! |

I LOVE THIS CD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't stop listening to it. I've bought some of BoA's older music in the past, but I'm happy that she's expanding into the US. Her style of music is totally different in this album, but I still love it. It's not jpop. Rather, it's dance in BoA's unique way. I happen to be a dance fan, so this album is just right for me. I love all the tracks, but my favorites are "I Did It For Love", "Energetic", "Eat You Up", "Obsessed", and "Scream". "Girls on Top" is actually one of her Korean songs from the past, except that in this album it's in English. If you're someone who likes BoA's style in Japan/Korea, you may or may not like this album. It's almost as if she has transformed into someone else in this one, however her unique style still shines through it. If you don't like dance/upbeat music, don't buy this one. As for me, I look forward to her future albums, whether they are in Korea, Japan, or the United States! Go BoA! |

Personally I dont get why people are disappointed in this album. Like SarangAsianMusic said, shes trying to break into the American music industry so it is the better option for her to choose what American listeners would be more attracted to. I was gonna buy it here until I saw it at one of the music stores at the mall and I had to just buy it with my own hands. Feelings different if you know what I mean. It was great to actually see her album at an english music store. Growing up in Canada I'm use to listening to R&B so I really liked the sound this album was giving. The songs on this album are great! "Eat You Up" and "Look Who's Talking" have been stuck in my head forever!! And as a dancer I found these 2 songs great to dance to! Eventually I think BoA can start putting back her original sound into her American album but as she is still starting out I think this album was what will help start her off with a BANG! I still personally think that no matter how well they (korean artists) do with their American debuts, they still wont be as successful as they want. Just cause when I bought this album, the guy at the cashier looked so surprised I was buying this. Most people have no idea about this album, and they are truly missing out. BoA i s really good, but still Americans will still probably choose Hannah Montana (random thought) over BoA. If you wanna hear a fresh new sound from BoA then this is totally the album for you!! Plus you can hear the improvement in her english which I think is totally awesome!! |

AN AMAZING START

Why people are disappointed? Because they expected BoA's usual trend to shine in this album. BoA has an aura when she's in Japan and people have gotten so used to that (for example, when BoA went back to korea in 2005, her Girl's on top album didn't do well because people wanted how her usual sound was in japan). When breaking into an AMERICAN industry, artists always try to fit the American music style before they have the money and courage to introduce their usual style from their own country. She has to show that she can cover what is already out in America. Britney Spears was the head of pop for years and BoA is showing her equal status before moving foreward. You can't just throw new music at a country that's very biased in itself. Her style in this album is no surprise and despite fans who are disappointed and say that BoA's personality doesn't shine through, it's not true. Just as BoA's demeanor in Japan is different from when she's in Korea, it's the same for America, which is an entire different culture in itself. BoA wanted to break into the pop/R&B scene and this album contains most of the genre she wants to gain attention in. If she continue in the American music industry, you can expect more genres and ballads as America gets used to having an Asian that can sing better than most pop artists kicking but and not wanting to admit it. Overall, I felt she was very strong in this album and you can sense all the hard work she put into learning the language. The music becomes addicting and it's an album that I can see people dancing to at clubs. No need to skip over songs, all of them are hype and don't slow down the rhythm. I am EXTREMELY proud of our girl for accomplishing this. I actually bought my copy in Borders the day it was released and felt very proud. So, once fans get over the fact that the album isn't what they were expecting, you'll realize all the hard work put into this and truly appreciate the album as a fan should. |

Wow! I expected much from this album and it doesn't disappoint me at all! I DID IT FOR LOVE is so catching and I also love the songs EAT YOU UP (allures one to dance!), OBSESSED (such impressive lyrics!), HYPNOTIC DANCEFLOOR (yay, move to the right and to the left!), DID YA, the English version of GIRLS ON TOP (I hate the rap part but well, not BoA's fault...), SCREAM and LOOK WHO'S TALKING, nearly the whole album! The other songs are quite okay. It's worth buying! BoA did a great job! Please support her! |

As BoA stated before, it's a pure dance/pop album. Each track is surely going to make you turn your speakers up and dance. Many famous hit producers were involved in this album, hence making this one album that won't stop spinning. Sean Garrett, who happened to produced the album's title track, "I Did It For Love" is a great way to start off the album. It is then followed by "Energetic" to Bloodshy & Avant's "Did Ya" (easily BoA's own "Toxic") to "Look Who's Talking", which has a Britney vibe Britney fans can appreciate, as it was co-penned and co-composed by Ms. Spears herself. You'll then find yourself lingering from her first absorbing obsessive single "Eat You Up" all the way to the "Hypnotic Dancefloor". Those who favored BoA's Korean Hit "Girls On Top" will also enjoy the English rendition in this album, most likely as a fan service to English speaking BoA fans. It's also one to be enjoyed by many mainstream listeners. There are many tracks to enjoy. You'll find yourself intoxicated with this album just after one spin. *I just want to make a special note on the US version of this album. If you're a foreigner outside of US and wants to buy from YesAsia, it will NOT contribute to BILLBOARD (I contacted them myself). At least get the Korean release as it will support the charts there. |

too much RnB
too much RnB

For me BoA is a mix of ballads, pop and Rnb. But this album is tooo much RnB for my taste. Also some songs, what's up with the lyrics? ie. first song "Eat you up", seriously what kind of lyrics is that? I love the dance in her MV but I hate the lyrics, it sounds like a 7 year old wrote it and tossed it and someone found it and made a song out of it for fun. Also..her second single "I did it for love".. I like the tune.. but she is saying "I did it for love" tooo many times, it made me forget the rest of the lyrics. The album is a so so album. Please Boa unni.. come back to Korea, or next time use various types of songs.. or something. I'm disappointed with this album for me this is not the BoA I know... |
