Good--but not Amazing Customer Review Rated Bad 5 - 5 out of 10
Hamasaki Ayumi has hit her fan audience back-to-back singles this year that either really appealing in originality ("STEP you/is this LOVE?") or the same original fodder ("fairyland" and "HEAVEN"). This following single "Bold&Delicious/Pride" doesn't really lend to either of those categories. Ayu's voice is infused with the power of a gospel choir for the chorus of "Bold&Delicious" in which she sings, "Get a little bit more free!", but still falls short of being mesmerizingly strong because the verses lack a certain umph that an R&B/Pop number like this require. A few bars sound as if she's trying to impersonate a man singing her song, the others are musically "just ok" and not much else. The rhthym is reminiscent of Japanese rock from the 1980s and American R&B/Pop hits from the 1990s. This single might be as controversial as her "STEP you" single, but certainly not as endearing. The music video is also a let-down because it's simply Ayu on the back of a video truck taking very "college filmmaker"-esque video shots and cues. She's dressed gorgeously in a cute, pink chiffon dress with a lovely neutral fur coat; her hair is dark and luxuriously curly. But the video begs for more ingenuity. The cover to this single is misleading, and the DVD's music video concept is a completely different one from the single cover art. I wish the video had been more like the single cover art, actually. "Pride" is an all right single, it's very Ayumi-ish, if anything. It's a strong song with a medium tempo, strong drum and rock feeling without ever going fast. It could, at best, be called a rock ballad. There is little creativity besides occasional moments when the guitar and back-up choir add flavor to this song. Fans of all the "MY STORY" album's rock-infused songs might like this slower rock ballad. Overall, the theme for "Bold&Delicious/Pride" seems to be strength and choir vocals. I must say that I enjoyed Ayumi without the latter...

Come out with something new? That is sooo Ayu! Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
Bold & Delicious is a rather complex, extraordinary, catchy, infectious song with medium pace beat guaranteed to stuck inside ur' head spinning around and around after listening for even the first time. Like any other of her upbeat songs, it's opened by a jingle which instead of sounding simple like
'lalalala...' in Greatful Days, it oozes 'yayayayagagagagadadadawowowo' which creates a distinct excitement & ambience of the song. Thankfully, the english part that's only Booold and Deliccioouuss is pronounced clearly and thus, making the whole song sounds perfect. On the contrary, Pride is a minor ballad included to merely compliment the single. As for this song, Pride fails to compete with her other ballad songs such as Heaven & Carols due to its plain/flat melody and the decent notes in the chorus part. This asides, Bold & Delicious clips underlines Ayu always-come-out-with-something-new trademark by depicting Ayu singing on the back of a big truck driving around New York. It seems that Ayu wants to relate the idea of the clip with the song title which said Bold & Delicious since it's quite embarassing, scary yet feeling-good at the same time having lots car riders as well as pedestrians staring at her in a puzzled way while performing the song. To be honest, this totally works and I give two thumbs up for the PV director and her! However, I, after watching the entire clip, am somewhat bored with the mostly static manner in shooting her. Despite that, i'm still enjoying the clip as much as the song itself. Lastly, there're just six words that i'm gonna say to Ayu fans out there; BUY IT COZ IT'S GOOD!

excellent! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This single is one of her best yet! Featuring a newer R and B beat and rythym from the US, Ayu perfectly incorporates it into Japanese, giving her an edge over other artists! She still reigns as JPOP queen, now and forever!

Another orginal Single by The Queen of J-pop! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This single is so not Ayu, but so nice...!

I think that Bold&Delicious is a very "funny" song, love the beginning; yayayayagagagagajajajajawowowowo", it's kind of cute ^^ And, it's easy to sing along because of the amount of English. One of my Ayu favs this year, Behind STEP you.

Pride is a deep and sad song, I especially like the opening background music. It's a decent contrast to the wacky Bold&Delicious.

This single is really creative, and very fun indeed and she looked like she had fun doing making of the PV for B&D

It's EXCELLENT!:D

I Really Don't Know Why Some Ayu Fans Didn't Like This Single So Much Is Because Of The Song In This Single Is The Worst Or The Way She Experimenting Her New Style?
I Have To Say Is, This Is The Best Ayu Single Ever Since H.
Bold&Delicious Has A "Americanish"( ^^ ) Style Of Hip-hop And This Song Was Fun And Cathcy. =]
And I Love To Dance This Song In Our Home & Even In My Highschool Friends Who are Ayu Fans Too.
The Pride Was Eerie & Beautiful Ballad Track, & I Like Ayu's New Style In This Track.
I Appreciate The New Style Of Ayu In This Single Even Some Ayu Fans Didn't Love It.

Bold & Delicious- I'm really not fond of this song, it's to american... which is supported by the video ^_^; Maybe it just has to grow on me.. or something

Pride- I loooooooove this song!!! It's like an eerie musical-inspired powerful ballad, maybe a little jazz..? And the lyrics are beautiful ^_^ This is a masterpiece!

Not My Favorite Ayu Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
I love Ayu to death, but this fell short in every way possible. It's not that the songs are horrendous, but Bold&Delicious kind of doesn't fit Ayu well. She has a beautiful voice that tackle any style, but with the "YAYAYA GAGAGA DADADA WOWOWOWOWOOO" when you first hear the song, the booming sounds of a gospal choir shouting "BOLD&DELICIOUS" before Ayu, and then coming in with the chorus along side Ayu, it's funky but not my favorite. I actually like the whole style of the song but it takes some time to find interesting. The PV to Bold&Delicious was shot in NY. I wont give it away, but it's a nice little video inside of a video were you get to see New Yorkers in "awe" at a Japanese woman making a PV in Japanese. If I may add, I think I saw my cousins neighborhood! :O
Pride? I like. It's a nice song, soft & mellow, but I don't like it more than Bold&Delicious.
But my favorite song on the whole single is Will "WALL5Remix", it's great. I think the single is still worth buying, especially for an Ayu fan, no doubt about it.

Good Try =) Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
Ayu is trying out other style and this is a good thing. Bold & Delicious is a catchy song which grows on me the more i listen to it. It is not necessary a bad song and is a lot different from Ayu's previous song. Pride, on the other hand, is a powerful ballard with an eerie atmosphere. The two new song in the single are great and i hope Ayu will continue to produce songs of good quality =)

Something Different Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
I'm not saying the song is the abosuletely best peice of music, since the video isn't much to go by (even though it takes place 40 mins from my house) but the song is something new for Ayu. At least she's trying different styles to see what works for her, which is what all artists should do. Although, I have to admit that the more I listen to it, the more it grows on me, so this is definitely a song that takes some getting used to if you're a traditional Ayu fan. Her poppy vocals are mixed in with a kind of 'hip-hop'/'gospel-y' background, but the way she controls her voice makes the different components fit rather well even though at first from clips and snippets (like her site that only plays the chorus) it sounds out there. The whole song really makes me wonder exactly what Bold & Delicious is about because the video takes place in New York and its buroughs (sp?). Maybe it'a about the Big Apple? Hmmm, It will be hard to tell until the lyrics come out, since I'm still polishing my Japanese. Pride for some reason reminds me of HANABI, I guess because of the slow pace, yet upbeat music. But since the single hasn't come out yet, maybe more people will warm up to it.

A Very Funny & Beautiful Single =] Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Some people said that this is Ayu's worst single ever... I DON'T THINK SO!
This is the funniest single I've ever heared from her, the reason? The background choral "BOLD&DELICIOUS" Was Beautiful & Funny But It gets Annoying When You prolonged to Listen It.
This Song(Bold&Delicious) Has A best jHiphop Beats & While the Pride was dark and eerie song.
Anyways, this single is still good...& I will love to buy this and her new album.
