After winning the Special Jury Prize at the 2003 Pia Film Festival, playwright Miura Daisuke returns with his second feature film Boys on the Run. Based on the comic by Hanazawa Kengo, Boys on the Run is a crude and often hilarious journey of a loser who tries to become an adult, but ends up running into one embarrassing situation after another. Staying faithful to the source material, Miura pulls no punches in portraying its sex-obsessed/sex-deprived protagonist and his sometimes violent journey. Rock band Ging Nang Boyz member Mineta Kazunobu stars as the loser, leading a cast of recognizable Japanese pop culture personalities such as Matsuda Ryuhei (Nightmare Detective), Tokyo Tower author Lily Franky, and singer YOU.

A 29-year-old virgin that spends his free time masturbating to pornography in the home he shares with his parents, Tanishi (Mineta Kazunobu) is a certified loser. Working as a salesman for vending machine toys, Tanishi is only serious about his feelings for attractive co-worker Chiharu (Kurokawa Mei). Even though she is, amazingly, interested in reciprocating his awkward advances, a series of incidents send her off to the arms of competing salesman Aoyama (Matsuda Ryuhei). However, Aoyama is more interesting is spiting Tanishi than being with Chiharu, leaving her when she gets pregnant. Determined to fight for her honor, Tanishi decides to pick up boxing and exact revenge on his rival.

Two-disc DVD includes making of, conversation with Miura Daisuke and Mineta Kazunobu, interviews, the music video for the theme song by Ging Nang Boyz, and trailers.
