One of Hong Kong's most respected music divas, Sandy Lam is back to start a new disco boom.

Even though the veteran chanteuse has mainly provided the pop market with ballads in recent years, she's probably Asia's most prominent dancing diva after the late great Anita Mui. For her latest Mando-pop album, Breathe Me (her follow-up to her 2001 Mandarin release, Truly), Sandy has prepared a special cover version of Bizarre Love Triangle, which was formerly sung by English pop band New Order. She titled her rendition of the classic hit "One Person" and recorded it in two different versions (Track 1 and 14). As far as the other material on the new album is concerned, Sandy was as always immersed in the project from start to finish, taking part in the selection, the recording, as well as the planning of the songs. No doubt still one of the most energetic contenders on the music scene, Sandy has injected her latest work with some nostalgic 80s beats that are likely to stir up the latest disco wave.

Great album Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
I love this albbum because it's the music style that I love. However, my comment is, how come Sandy lam produces such quality album in Mandarin only? Is not fair for the Cantonese fans of her like myself. I wish she can do the same thing for her upcoming Cantonese album. Kudos to you, Sandy for yet another great collection of songs.

'Breathe Me' is my first Sandy Lam album...I'm blown away!! Polished to a diamond sheen from beginning to end, diverse and evocative, it's slap-you-in-the-face good. Track 01 starts us off with a pinnacle example of pop-disco as honed by a true Diva. Even with strong beats, attention never shifts away from Sandy's enchantingly melodic voice. Track 03 is an enigmatic and sultry slow-tempo electronic song with a feeling of reflection and reminision. Track 04 is an emotive and cleansing ballad that slowly builds with some great minimalistic drum, piano, and guitar use. No synthesized midi instruments here! Track 07 is a wonderfully deep-south Alabama/New Oreleans sultry sound. Powerful, powerful vocals in this one. I'd run out of space to go on about each track, but all of them are expertly arranged, loving produced, and sung with true talent. There aren't any boring songs here. Not. A. Single. One. I need another Sandy album of this quality right now! A contender for album of 2006! Recommended to everyone. Seriously. If you have to get one album, get this one. I can't think of a more well-rounded, higher quailty album that I've heard in 2006. 10/10

 Music That Transcends Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This album is extremely well produced and Sandy is an incredible vocalist. I randomely bought this album along with a few others while I was visiting Hong Kong. To my suprise, I discovered that this is absolutely one of the best albums I have ever listened to. I am an avid fan of many different genres of music; including 80's Pop, Hip-Hop, Alternative, Jazz, etc. I own over a thousand albums and this is one of the best. I actually do not understand anything she is saying since I do not speak Mandarin Chinese, but I cannot stop playing this album over and over again in my car as I am stuck in traffic in Los Angeles. Her sweet vocals along with the compelling beats and rythms transcend any language. You can feel her songs even without understanding the lyrics. Almost all of the tracks could be hit singles. I especially love tracks 6, 8 and 14. Though I guess as an American my taste in music is different from the Chinese since those songs were not the ones released as singles so far. I cannot emphasize enough how well produced this album is from beginning to end. I ordered another copy of this album for my friend just to support Sandy. I hope she releases another album soon.

Simply the Best Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
"Breathe Me" is a much anticipated Music Selection from Sandy Lam. Her voice is angelical, crisp and smooth to your ears. With Sandy's albums, there are very few songs I do not like, and this album is no acception. Sandy's "One Self", "Face to Face", and "South Wind" has climbed to TOP 10 List on multiple Asia and Canada Music charts. Get it you won't regret it. Sandy is simply the best HK Music Artist.
