However, things turn serious as dire circumstances impel Yang Soon to move to the city in search of a job that will allow her to settle her parents' massive financial debts. To earn all the necessary cash, she becomes a hired servant for a wealthy family and moves into their house. At her new job, she comes face-to-face with Han Gi Tae (Jang Hyuk, from Please Teach Me English), the family's spoiled brat of a son, who also happened to be the president of a popular makeup company.

Along the way, Yang Soon teaches the short-tempered Gi Tae a thing or two about manners with her folksy, no-nonsense approach to life! But things turn serious when Gi Tae, the inheritor of the family business, finds himself stabbed in the back by a pair of duplicitous family members. Distraught by the situation, Gi Tae finds comfort from Yang Soon. But will our heroine be able to finally pay off her parents’ debts and come to the rescue of her own Prince Charming? Will Gi Tae be able to stand on his own two feet and gain back what he has lost? And just what will happen between Yang Soon and Gi Tae? Will things end in love - or heartbreak? "Bright Girl" is not so bright Customer Review Rated Bad 6 - 6 out of 10
I've just finished watching "Bright Girl.." and I am very disappointed with this series. The casting for the female lead is completely off. I understand that there is an intended 9yr age gap between the two leads but Jang Nara looks, talks and acts like a 12yr old - she does not appear to be the bright, charismatic young girl the director had implied for the character. JN/Yang Soon lacks a sense of maturity, wit and strength both in her character and appearance; she did not fit the role of a strong and captivating female lead whose mission is to "save her Prince". Something is missing or rather; a lot is missing to validate her role. Moreover, it was absolutely painful to watch the forced chemistry between Jang Hyuk and Jang Nara. I cringed on the thought that the male lead is paired with someone better off playing his kid sister. A very suitable kid sister JN would've been. Enough said. I won't bother nailing the aggravating flaws of the story or the senseless ending of Yang Soon's new endeavors. However, I am giving this drama a generous 6.8 out of 10 because despite its many flaws, it kept me wanting to follow through until the end. (and I am glad it's over!) I did not buy this item and cannot confirm its quality.

bright girl rocks my world!! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
bright girl still rocks my world.. its story is also funny like the other korean series.. the leads jang nara and jang hyuk the look cute except the height.. jang nara is very cute and funny.. jang hyuk is handsome but his role here is always hot- tempered.. i also like han eun jung(full house) even if she is the witch in the story i still like her because i like the way she acts and she's sexy and beautiful.. the story line is the best ever about cosmetics, baseball, etc..

This movie was the best. Jang Hyeok and Jang Nara really know how to act. They are the hottest korean stars in modern dramas! Wish the movie had a better ending!

glad i bought this!!! Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
First of all thanks to all other critics, if it weren't for you guys I wouldn't have bought this. For a non Korean and a first to Korean dramas, I thought this was extremely funny and it kept me glued. The ending was a little too fast, it was all over and done with within 2 seconds, but overall the story was great, just the right pace. The only disadvantage is the subtitles, you have ages to read a simple "2 word line" and a split second to read a whole paragraph?!? whats that all about, set your subs with better timing!!! I had to rewind a couple of times to see what was said. Apart from that I would definitely recommend this, go and buy!!!! even the rewinding part is still worth it.
