Popstar Leon Lai is Sam, a tough Hong Kong cop who retreats to the rural island of Tai O after his beloved girlfriend, Ann (Japanese star Asaka Seto), is killed by a female assassin at the orders of a vicious bad guy named Night (Terence Yin). Ann was previously a prosecuting attorney, and was responsible for putting away Night, but his thirst for revenge also extends to Sam. Years later, Night is released from prison and seeks Sam out in Tai O. However, at nearly the same time, a beautiful Japanese tourist who looks just like Ann appears. Called You (and also played by Asaka Seto), the mysterious woman quickly melts Sam's heart, but she may be more than she seems.
Infernal Affairs co-director Andrew Lau mixes pistols and passion in Bullets of Love, a romantic action thriller with an all-star international cast. The film mines a popular Hong Kong genre, the tale of a wayward assassin, but gives it a dark romantic twist. Japanese star Asaka Seto brings luminous charm to difficult dual roles, and Leon Lai is charismatic as the lovelorn cop. A truly Hong Kong creation, Bullets of Love delivers intense thrills and dynamic action with a dash of tragic romance thrown in.

Sam and his team are members of a Serious Crime Unit in the District Crime Squad. The team successfully arrests an international crime organization’s leaders, Night. At the Court, Ann, a prosecutor and Sam’s finance, tries her best to convict Night. However, finally, Night is convicted on only one charge and sentenced to three years imprisonment. Night vows to take his revenge and destroy the couple one day. Ann and Sam take a trip to Paris and the assassin monitors them. Sam is completely crushed by the death of Ann that he starts a new life as a bar owner on Lamma. Two years later, Sam meets a Japanese tourist, You, who looks exactly like Ann, and he cannot help but fall in love with her. Meamwhile, Night has successfully appealed his case and decides to “take care” of Sam. During this time Sam happens to come across a bunch of photos and videotapes belonging to You, in which record Sam and Ann’s trip to France......

The story was well constructed (although you cannot possibly have such a good plastic surgery). The life was sweet for those innocent people in Tai O until disaster struck. Of all the beautiful women Leon had filmed with, this Japanese girl suits him best. They look so good together. She is gorgeous. I assure you an exciting finish, that you might even shed some tears. I'm also touched by the brotherly love. Very enjoyable. |

It was an OK movie

of course Leon looked very good in this movie (like all of his other movies), but the chemistry between the girl and Leon was not that great. And that whole plastic surgrey thing was a bit crazy. I mean how could see have fallen in love with Leon with just taking a glimps of him. But if you love to watch Leon, than go for it. |

Worth watching

I'm not a fan of Leon, but this movie is very well done. This has little of everything. The fighting scenes by Seto Asaka was great. The only thing that annoys me is the Cantonese that was spoken by Asaka, its hard to understand what she says, unless you have subtitle on. I prefer her speaking english instead. |
