The classic anime series Candy Candy comes to DVD with English subtitles! Limited to only 2000 copies, this Taiwan Collector's Edition boxset comes with a unique serial number, a bag, and a set of collector's cards.

The joint creation of writer Mizuki Kyoko and manga artist Igarashi Yumiko, Candy Candy was serialized in Nakayoshi magazine from 1975 to 1979, gaining quick popularity in Japan. The award-winning manga was then adapted to animation by Toei, running for 115 episodes from October 1976 to February 1979 on TV Asahi. A sentimental favorite around the world, Candy Candy went on to air throughout Asia, Europe, and the Americas. This sensitive shojo anime chronicles the life and times of blonde American orphan girl Candy White Ardlay. From her turbulent childhood with the wealthy Ardlay family, to her boarding school years, to adulthood when she becomes a nurse, the series follows her through the twists and turns of her life and her three unforgettable loves: kindred cousin Anthony Brown, boarding school boyfriend Terry, and lifetime protector Albert.

小甜甜的故事發生在20世紀初的美國，孤女小甜甜在孤兒院的山丘上巧遇一位吹奏蘇格蘭風笛的王子，而改變了一生的命運....
自從遇見山丘上的王子後，小甜甜決定以笑容迎接任何困難，因為山丘上的王子告訴他:"你的笑臉比要哭的時候好看多了"開朗熱情的小甜甜先是在玫瑰花門遇到很像王子的安東尼，後來在水門遇到安東尼的堂弟阿琪，再來是石門的小迪，最後三人促成了他被威廉家族收養，但此舉並非為小甜甜帶來幸福天意弄人，安東尼意外墜馬而死，深愛安東尼的小甜甜決定離開美國這塊傷心地，遠赴英國讀書，在英國遇到貴族陶斯，兩人相戀卻因嚴酷的環境分離，此刻，第一次世界大戰爆發，奪去了小迪的生命，當小甜甜在度回到了孤兒院的山丘上時，又聽見了那熟悉的蘇格蘭風笛，小甜甜才赫然發現長期以來收養他的威廉老爺-阿利巴先生，竟然就是當年他在山上預見的王子，這樣的結局不禁令人唏噓....

故事到最後，原來這個"阿利巴先生"就是那個山丘上的王子，而且就是每次小甜甜在人生關卡時，出手相援的安德烈家族的"威廉老爺"，然後最後一幕是兩人在柏尼之家的山丘上.....

Candy is a real role model Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Candy Candy is my all-time favourite animation, I watched this in the early 80´s on the Dutch and Belgian television. She is so cheerful, funny, honest and has sense of justice, a real role model. I love her, because
in my business and personal life (great husband and 2 lovely kids) I try to be like Candy, cheerful and
always fight for justice. The global financial crisis has a great impact on many people, my ´Candy way of
thinking´ is what can I do to help poor people? My first initiative last week was to provide 10 poorest
families in a Cambodian village with the necessaries of life like clothes, rice, fish sauce, mosquito net, flip
flops, hammock, exercise-books and pens for children and money .
The DVDs were fantastic, only one minus point: the translation in English of DVDs 10-12 was lousy (e.g. the
name of Terry changed all the time to Dili, Taris, Seli etc.)

Candy Candy is one of the greatest Japanese cartoons
I watched it on TV when I was in primary school
I've told the story to my 7 years old daughter
I really like to buy the DVD for my daughter
Does any one konw if a region 3 dvd can be played in Australia

love this DVD Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
I wait for this DVD 's more than 30yrs and finish watching this childhood cartoon. I also have a set of Candy books, but the story is is little different than the TV series, i can't remember which one more orignal, but i can said that i really love candy.

I love Candy too!!!!

As every 30 something latin american woman, I grew up watching Candy Candy.
I honestly thought Candy was lost forever for me. I did not expect to ever own a set of Candy Candy DVDs. I am so glad that I persevered with my search!
It comes beautifully presented with a gorgeous bag. And to top it all, also in Spanish!
It was delivered to my door one week after I ordered. Now that is service!
