Reminds me of someone... Customer Review Rated Bad 5 - 5 out of 10
This singer is fabulous! Unfortunately, her MUSIC style is far from unique. Her sound on fast songs is almost identical to the Swedish band ABBA from the 1970's (retro/disco) and her sound on slow songs is almost identical to Jasmine (Fish) Leong- sold here at YESASIA and highly recommended is Jasmine's newest "Swallowtail Butterfly" as the site has it listed or "Wings of Love" as the actual CD has printed on it. I LOVE the ballads, but then, I love Jasmine. This singer has such a wonderful she is best backed up by only a quitar and maybe some piano. But she chooses on too many songs to sound like the by-gone days of disco and loud back-up singers and unusual instruments that are rarely used in modern (past 1970) music. Overall, this CD seems to have 2 distinct flavors: excellently sung and performed ballads that showcase the singer's amazing clear soprano voice and poorly orchastrated retro/disco music that drowns her out and makes the listener immediately feel as though they should be listening with a strobe light or lava lamp. I personally think this singer should modernize her music and she'd be brilliant! She has a lovely voice, I just feel it's wasted on half the CD. I will probably buy a 2004 CD from her...just in the hopes she has updated her music to go with that awesome voice.
