Simple but effective

"Change Me" is a great album, not the best but a great album and it's worth to listen to. For this album, he's just returning in his roots like the song. Everybody attended he made another "chinked out" (me too) but he changed his music style and it had to disconcert the most of all. But what it made that Leehom is a genius and the only one who can save the music's world is that he is always experimenting with his music, and does not specialize in a particular theme or genre. And i think he is the only who do this in the music industry, always occur himsel again and again, living just for music. Leehom is the best and i'll support him forever! |

I love this album. It's new and different... more of a band-feel to it. I know it's not as catchy and new as his previous chinked-out stuff, but it goes to show you Leehom's ability to try new things. He's not sticking to the same style as before because he knows it will sell lots of albums/give him more of a super-star status. He's willing to push the envelope and challenge people's ears and minds. There are so many different influences in this album, such a diverse set of songs... the more you listen to it, the more addicted you will become. Also, I love how he attached the whole environmentally-friendly and the current situation in global warming. Plus, who can resist Leehom and his beautiful ballads? Track 12 is definitely my fave!! |

The professional reviewer doesn't even know what he's talking about. "Luo Ye Gui Gen" (Falling Leaf Returns to Roots) was written by Leehom... He was so inspired by Lust, Caution that he wrote the song and credited its composition to Kuang Yu Min (who is the character Leehom plays in the movie)... This album didn't amaze me as much as Heroes of the Earth; however, I like the new styles he tried. "Luo Ye Gui Gen" is definitely one of his most gorgeous ballads ever, and it is definitely different from ballads he has written in the past. "Gai Bian Zi Ji" has the fresh rock feel that you haven't heard from Leehom in quite a while. "Wo Men De Ge" combines several different styles, and yet it still sounds very coherent. "Ai Zai Na Li" has a very smooth, light feel to it that reminds me of earlier ballads from the 90s. My favorite, "Ni Shi Wo Xin Nei De Yi Shou Ge," shows off Leehom's attempt at a very Taiwanese-sounding song, and it is absolutely gorgeous. The pairing of Leehom's voice along with Selina's gives a wonderful feel to this simple, yet touching song. |

I would have to agree with the Professional Review, Kevin Ma. The previous album was fun and unique. This album is mellow. The only track that kept me going was Falling Leaf Return to Roots (track 3). I didn't care much of the other tracks. |

okay, so i liked lee hom's music when he was in the chinked-out phase ( have both his albums). and i believe he is very talented. but this album is truly boring. some ridiculously annoying songs like cockney girl and hua-ren wan sui didn't help. the rest are forgettable tunes. the only thing that will save the album is his already established star status....don't waste your money on this album. |

leehom always makes his cd outstanding and special he incorporates different musical arrangements and everything flows well together last time..he has chinese musical instrument mixed with hip hop now he uses piano with hip hop like track 10 - it's full of piano..yet in the background u hear a hip hop beat..very nice flow and great vocals track 2 - more on the hip hop side..it's more of a happy upbeat song rather than a dance one..i like this track the best..the lyrics is nice and it gives an encouraging message track 5/7 - both are slow hip hop jams..it has a nice beat with a good melody..i like how leehom incorporates his previous songs name into the lyrics for track 5..and track 7 has a very catchy chorus that makes it memorable track 8 - great full of hip hop, r&b..good fast song and there's female vocals involved too..a great colleboration this is an overall nice cd i enjoyed many of the tracks keep it up leehom! |

it's really not fair calling this album a disappointments. even though chinked-out was outstanding, new, and refreshing and many fans and myself still wants more chinked-out. you can't compare this album with his previous chinked-out albums. he has try very hard on every album to impress his fans. as leehom adapt to new music he bring it with him and share it with us. why do some people keep looking at his work in a negative way. why can't you see it in a positive way and find good things about the artist work. like one of the viewer had said, chinked-out is like a roller coaster, you will get sick after awhile. thats probably why he is taking sometime off and then come back to it later. "change me" is also brilliant, i love it. i was kinda wondering if he was gonna get back the the old school style and sing more ballads, and his rapping is pretty interesting too. my favorites are tracks 2,4,11,12. love leehom's voice, he can adapt so easily. |

Sounds like a transition...

In this album Lee Hom has incorporated some vocal elements like he demonstrated in "Mistake Made In the Flower Field" from "Heroes of Earth." At the same time, he has used instrumentals similar to "Impossible to Miss You" This shows that while he may return to the roots of his previously calm and simple style like in "Love Rival Beethoven" and "Revolution," he's still come so far. He puts his heart into the music, and you can feel it, no matter what style. I think that "Chinked-Out" was a roller coaster and I was on it. It was a wonderful ride, but if you go too long, you'll get sick. Change Me feels like a more comfortable, transitional album. It doesn't sound like Lee Hom is trying to stretch all the boundaries of his talent. I'm glad he's created something new, but so familiar. I, for one, am going to sit back and enjoy it, while it lasts. You never know what he's going to do next. |

i actually think this album is pretty good. good changes. im really glad he's concerned about the enviroment. i also know there are some people out there who think this is just bs and the fact that his album is made of recycled paper is to save money. but i really dont think he is that type of person. there are some catchy songs like track 2 and 7(cockney girl)? the style of his ballads expecially track 3 really changed but i like it. the only thing i dont like is that there really arent that many songs. two tracks are just basically intros to the songs. i just wished he put a little more work into it. but who can blame him; he also filmed a movie at the same time. |

Actually, LeeHom just wanna changes his style of music like leaving aside Chinked-out style 1st cos he's doing that style of music for his past 2 albums already. That's why he made a changes which is good!! Don't y'll think that it's kinda bored for keeping doing the same style!! I'm glad that he really concern about the environmental matter for this album this time!! Overall, I just love his changes so much and give me a 'fresh' LeeHom!! Well, his music always has his own style!! |
