Adapted from the popular game The Magic Sword & The Chivalrous Youngsters, action fantasy fusion drama Chinese Paladin turned into a huge hit when it was aired in 2005, launching leading man Hu Ge into household fame in China. Four years later, the series makes a mighty return with Chinese Paladin III, China's most anticipated TV drama of 2009. Chinese Paladin III is based on the third game in the series - hence the title - but in terms of timeline, it is actually a prequel set 50 years prior to the events of the first drama. Hu Ge returns as a young carefree swordsman fated for great adventures. This time, he matches swords with Taiwan stars Wallace Huo (Tian Xia Di Yi, At the Dolphin Bay) and Jerry Huang (My Best Pals), and top Mainland actresses Yang Mi (Wang Zhao Jun) and Cecilia Liu (The Eagle Shooting Heroes). Powerhouse producer-director Lee Kwok Lap, the creator of some of the biggest costume drama hits of the last few years including The Eagle Shooting Heroes, The Young Warriors, Strange Tales of Liaozhai, and the first Chinese Paladin, captivates audiences again with a crowd-pleasing swashbuckling adventure full of thrilling action, heartwrenching romance, and fantastical spectacle.
Happy-go-lucky youth Jing Tian (Hu Ge) is always daydreaming about becoming a hero, although in reality he's just a waiter. He unexpectedly gets pulled into the martial arts world when his town is struck by a mysterious deadly virus that turns people into murderous zombies. Joining the fight against the undead, Jing Tian befriends rich girl Xue Jian (Yang Mi) and Zu Mountain disciple Chang Qing (Wallace Huo), who was sent to help settle the conflict. There are far greater dangers waiting to unfold though when Chong Lou (Jerry Huang), a powerful and mysterious warrior from the dark realm, steals the thousand-year Dark Sword that guards Zu Mountain's Demon Tower. Long Kui (Cecilia Liu), a thousand-year-old spirit locked in the sword, is released into the world, along with other evils that throw heaven and earth out of balance. To seal the Demon Tower again, Jing Tian, Chang Qing, and Xue Jian must find five spirit orbs scattered in the mortal realm. Their quest is marked by dangers at every turn, and shocking revelations about Chong Lou's plans and Jing Tian's true identity.

dont worry
| Don't worry about this one not being in Cantonese or without English subs. Thing with Tai Seng that I notice and this is from buying multiple series from this company through YesAsia is that they will first come out with the Mandarin version then the Canto/Mando with Eng subs. So that is what I'm waiting for. But this is weird for me to understand because if this is Chinese Paladin III what happened to Chinese Paladin II???? |
