青年金正源（韓石圭飾）身懷絕症，但依舊坦然地微笑著面對生活。他開了一家照相館，並一人負責全部職備。在家裡，還耐心的教父親學遙控器的操作方法。他默默地在為自己離開人世而“準備”著。正源暗戀青梅竹馬的芝泳，但芝泳最終還是選擇了別人。這時，女交警德琳（沈銀河飾）由於工作的關係，認識了正源。
在正源的眼裡德琳是那麼天真、那麼的可愛，兩人在交往過程中，相互感染，逐漸喜歡上了對方。但正源卻無法擁有這份難得的幸福，面對死亡，在夜深人靜的時候，他一個人會悄然哭泣。正源終於因病情惡化，住進了醫院。德琳下班後照常趕到照相館，卻發現沒有開門。
為了不給德琳帶來更多的傷害，正源再也沒有出現在德琳的面前。德琳最後一氣之下砸碎了照相館的櫥窗。不久，正源便去世了。在雪花紛飛寒冬的一天，德琳再次出現在照相館的門前……
