Kwon Sang Woo takes on two roles in the 2009 MBC mini-series Cinderella Man, his first TV drama since getting married in 2008. Set amidst the din of Seoul's fashion hub Dongdaemun, Cinderella Man follows two identical-looking men, one rich and poor, who decide to switch places. In a fresh and exciting pairing, the drama co-stars Girls' Generation idol Im Yoon A, who proved her acting chops with her award-winning turn in the hit daily drama You Are My Destiny, as well as Song Chang Ui (The Scale of Providence) and Han Eun Jung (Full House).

Outgoing street-smart shopkeeper Oh Dae San (Kwon Sang Woo) runs a clothing stall at Dongdaemun Market. He holds a torch for headstrong budding fashion designer Yoo Jin (Im Yoon A), who just returned from studying abroad to take over her late father's shop. Lee Jun Hee (Kwon Sang Woo) is the apathetic heir apparent to one of the country's largest fashion brands. He has, however, no interest whatsoever in the family business, unlike his serious and reliable stepbrother Jae Min (Song Chang Eui) who is a senior executive at the company but disregarded by Jun Hee's grandmother because he isn't blood. When Jun Hee crosses paths with Dae San, he suddenly realizes that he's had a long-lost twin all this time. To buy time to investigate the truth behind their separation, Jun Hee asks Dae San to switch identities with him.

i just thought the first couple of episodes went on a bit. Until kwon sang woo acted like his twin the entire time then every got interesting. but it was good.

Though this drama is a vast improvement from Kwon's last one, namely the awful awful 'bad love', the script is still far from being captivating. Kwon looks absolutely majestic from the 9th epistle on (when he got rid of his Beatles style hairdo). However, young as he looks, matching him with someone 14 years his junior just didn't quite work out. There is no chemistry whatsoever between them. Whenever they are together, there is always an air of awkwardness. The poor story didn't help, nor did the inexperienced female lead. Having said that, if you are a KSW fan, then his stunning look, his smooth acting, his smart attire etc. etc. should keep you very satisfied in this otherwise, quite dull drama.
