男にすがって生きる母親ガンスクのせいで、人を信じることができず、擦れて育った少女ウンジョ。ある日、ウンジョは最低の生活に耐えかねて、酒乱の男と暮らすガンスクを連れて逃げ出す。家から持ち出した指輪が原因で、酒造所の一人娘ヒョソンと出会うガンスク。ヒョソンが金持ちのお嬢様であると知ると、彼女の父親デソンを誘惑し、まんまと妻の座に収まるのだった。ガンスクから呼び寄せられたウンジョだが、新しい家での暮らしは別世界のようで居心地が悪い。特に、大人たちから可愛がられて育った義妹ヒョソンには嫌悪感さえ抱く。優しい義父デソンにも打ち解けぬウンジョだったが、１人の青年が解きほぐす。それは、住み込みで働いていたギフンだった。大企業の会長の隠し子として心に傷を持つギフンも、昔の自分に似たウンジョに惹かれるが、彼らの仲を妬くヒョソンのせいで、２人はすれ違ったまま別れてしまう。そして、８年後。女性酒造師となりデソンの仕事を手伝うウンジョの前に、再びギフンが現れる…。
