March 13, 2007 Must have for all gazettE fans Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
Though Disorder may not be as polished as Nil, Disorder shows one of the many things that gazettE is the master of. This album has a pretty decenent amount of fast paced, in-your-face rap-metal-sort of punkish sounding masterpieces, but it also shows a softer and more poppish side of gazettE as well.

I have three top favorite songs off this album. These tracks really stood out to me, and should defiently be noted as 100% classic gazette.
"Anti-Pop" starts off pretty jazzy, but then it explodes into the trademark Gazerock style, full of insane drumming and bass lines, screamy vocals and crazy guitars, as well as a catchy chorus that makes you want to get up and jump around.
"Tokyo Shinjuu" is a bit more on the pop side, yet it's still a bit fast-paced. There's no screaming, and Ruki's vocals are amazing, as always. I really love the guitar parts in this song as well...Very catchy and very fun to listen to.
Finally, "7gatsu 8ka" is also fairly popish, yet shows excelent guitar and bass work, as well as a catchy melody and gorgeous vocals and an overall light-hearted feeling. It's a refreshing break from the loudness on the album.

Other notable tracks include the slow "Saraba", the crazy classic with an amazing bassline "The $ocial Riot Machine$", and the upbeat and insanely catchy punk tune, "SxDxR".

Overall, Disorder should -NOT- be missed by any fan of gazettE. However, if you're new to them, I recommend Nil as it's a bit less crazy and has a more mature sound to it.

February 16, 2007 Beyond expectations Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
Beyond the Gate was well-composed, and had a small, yet nice vareity of songs to listen to. Though the album overall features a heavy gothic rock feel to it, the instrumentation, featuring Mana's signature harpsicords and organs, was strong and clear and unique, as well as dramatic and beautiful. I love Seth's voice, too, as it suits the style perfectly, though I still think Juka's better.

My favorite song would have to be Eternally Beyond. Its powerful and dramatic mood, along with beautiful classical and goth-rock arrangements and strong vocals make this a pleasure to listen to.

    February 16, 2007 Eh...They can do better. Customer Review Rated Bad 6 - 6 out of 10
six Ugly was NOT my favorite album, and it still isn't. The songs, though they have their trademark Dir en grey edge to them, the theme of this album: extremley heavy and pure loudness, repeats itself througout the album in a less-than-impressive way.

The highlights of this album are Mr. NEWSMAN and umbrella. Mr. Newsman has an insanely catchy guitar line and awesome lyrics featuring Kyo's not so great English, making it a joy to listen to and fun to watch live. Umbrella has some of the best drumming I've heard in a while, and I always find myself singing the chorus at random times. :D

However, the album does have its flaws. The remakes are great, but I would have rather heard something else other than a remake. Hades and Ugly, though they are exciting to watch live, I really didn't find them to be that appealing on the album. The drum solo in Ugly, however, was a really great addition which made it a bit more enjoyable.

I guess if you like this sort of music, then go for it. It's not Dir en grey's best, and I actually reccomend that if you like this music, then buy Vulgar, which has a similar style to six Ugly, but composed much better.

February 16, 2007 The best Malice Mizer album!! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I tend to listen to a lot of this genre...Classical, gothic, and the works. However, I've never purchased an album as beautifully composed as Bara no Seidou.
All of the tracks are gorgeous, combining harpsicords and organs with electric guitar and bass, as well as strings and some synth. Klaha's strong and operatic voice adds to the feel of an eerie, yet lovely gothic atmosphere that will ring in your head for a long time.
The movie, Bara no Konrei, is also very beautiful visually, but what stood out the most in that movie was the music by far, which was basically the reason why I bought it.

In short: If you don't already have this, BUY IT. You definitely won't regret it, as this is visual-kei at its finest.

    February 16, 2007 100% awesome Miyavi Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
There's really not much to say about this album, other than it's spastic, loud, unique and totally fun to listen to.
Yet another classic release from Miyavi-sama~!

    February 16, 2007 A great album, however... Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
I really enjoyed Missa. Indies Dir en grey was so incredibly awesome in terms of visual style. Musically, it's nothing too special...It's basically your average late-90s visual-kei band. There's still a lot of influence of La:Sadies in the songs, which isn't a bad thing, but not exactly a good thing either...

Though the songs aren't that great of quality, tracks like Garden and Byo''Shin are still favorites among fans despite their age. Aoi Tsuki and [S] are totally insane with harsh and eerie vocals and impressive drumming. And Kiri to Mayu and Erode are very unique with mysterious sounding melodies and gorgeous guitar solos.

Do I think it's worth the money? Yes...But only if you REALLY like Dir en grey, otherwise, I think you can manage without it.

    February 16, 2007 Wasn't expecting this Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
I hate myself and want to... is a great song and everything, but not exactly what I expected out of Rentrer en Soi. Satsuki sounds kind of like an angry squirrel speaking terrible English, but despite that, it's fast, heavy and really catchy at the same time.
It's not for everyone, but if you're willing to try something a bit new, or like Rentrer en Soi, then I suggest you order it. ^^

  • February 16, 2007 Edgy and Elegant Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
D has always been a favorite of mine, and The Name of the Rose is my favorite thing they've ever released.
Asagi's operatic voice sounds great with acoustic and heavier songs, and his range is phenomenal. The guitars have a very unique sound to them, too. "Yami Yori..." and "Day Dream" are my favorites on the album, by far. They show the most creativity and uniqueness, as well as elegance that is D.

  • February 16, 2007 Totally INSANE!! Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
This is like nothing Dir en grey has released. Everything is edgy, hardcore, really fast and screamy. I would love to see this performed live!
Though it's their most violent and agressive release ever, it still has the uniqueness and beautiful-grotesqueness that is Dir en grey.

However...I don't reccomend this to anyone who doesn't like this sort of heavy-screamy-doomy-RAAAAAAWR-death metal. Many people will find it to be "Westernized".

Honestly, if any other band did this song, I probably wouldn't like it. Call me biased, or whatever. I dont care. Dir en grey has something that other metal bands don't, and I love them for that.

The live tracks are good, too. Not exactly that great in terms of Kyo's already-worn-out voice during the show, but I have to say, that Kodoku..., is the best one out of all of them (the verse where there are no vocals always gets me). Spilled Milk is great, too, and Obscure is a classic no matter what.

ASOM may not be my favorite thing Diru has released, but it's definitely a great single nonetheless.

February 16, 2007 One of Diru's greatest works Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Ryojoku no Ame is a lovely song consisting of blaring and distorted guitars making really interesting screechy noises funky bass and drum lines and of course, excelent vocals from our beloved Kyo.

...For those who were scarred for life by Clever Sleazoid, the screaming is kept to a minimum, and is only used in two parts of the song. And it's well done, too, so don't worry. Maybe not as well done as Kodou, but...I'll let you decide on that.

Ryojoku no Ame has an snyth-metal feel to it, so fans of the Kisou album (or fans of the synth-metal genre in general) may be interested in it. . .

As for the live tracks, well...I was happy that they had three of my all-time favorite songs on it, but the recording wasn't exactly the greatest quality. The Final probably has the greatest quality of the live songs, followed by Mr. NEWSMAN. That's a really great song, but it sounded better on the six Ugly album, and it's really one of those songs that you have to see live to get all the energy. Die does some backup vocals, though, and that's always a great thing. He has a really great voice, even when he's shouting poorly pronounced English. Even though Higeki... is a lovely and emotional song, with sparkly guitars and whispery vocals, you can barely hear Kyo in some parts, but the emotion he puts into it makes up for it.

Overall, Ryojoku is a GREAT song and shouldn't be missed out on.
